The GOP's cheerful viciousness Yet again, the GOP launches brutal personality and cultural attacks on the Democratic candidate. Yet again, Democrats seem determined to allow it to do so.

  • @Anandasubramanian

Go roll around on your prayer mat. You deserve to get it good and hard, too.

  • Love you like crazy big boy

    Dear Glenn,

There is some chance that you may need to check in to rehab over all that pepper spray you sucked up learning that yes those streets is mean.

The thing about the low road is the simple truth from my granny and that is "no one wins a shit throwin' contest" and so for you to conclude there is some great loss in abstaining from the competition, I will forgive based on your recent billy club exposure.

The B man is getting it just right. There is a measure in not engaging a lunatic while solidly slapping him/her about the face and neck in such a way as to embarrass any person with half a brain. The B boy knows the deal. He ain't no John Kerry in terms of his "look out bitch" attitude. The simple fact is they lie, they continue to lie, your money is gone and your kids are gonna die..." That's all been said.

Now for you and the sky is falling philosophy of life. It may energize some but there is this other group that is immobilized by the idea that all is lost. You, yourself know that tomorrow is going to be a bright sun shiny day should share that with the people who read and rely upon you. So if you are all done sniffing pepper and some of your pals have been released, try to think of the rest of us carrying the weight and try to take a load off.

McCain is a loser, Palin is a prop and the big B knows it and has said it is so and has expressed his confidence. Lay your head down on your pillow and sleep sure that tomorrow is a bright sun shiny day.

    Love, peace out,

    Conrad C. Elledge

  • i am so cheerful -

i could kiss a shooter - and heru - and adnoto - and a sinner - and the more viciously delicious they are getting up there in St Paul and the more they bring out the woman with the hairdo of my grandma and they bring out my grandpa (but a much worst version) - the more we are celebrating and we go on skype with our friends in New York and in Virginia and even in Newport Beach (who would have thunked it - that bitches even in Orange County are voting for Obama – and that they make their father give – again – 2000$ for his campaign) - and it has been one of the most amazing and mind boggling years - and when we wrote on one of our first posts on Salon - that Edwards and Hillary are the past - the crowd still was roaring in disagreement - and when I wrote on UT it is sooo important not

to turn into an asshole there still was this kind of silence - but now the tide is turning – everywhere - and all MY ‘issues’ (America turn black and white – and all against the war) have become a truthiness and I watch Jon Stewart and i sit down for breakfast and even if Obama doen;t make it to the White House because at the last moment some idiots decide to vote for the White man the deed has been done - and i take Chris Rocks advice - how you don’t get you ass kicked by the Police – in consideration - and I sit down for breakfast –

(i know - but i mean - 'again') and I read UT and I even start to enjoy omex (and i used to despite the dude) and i envison RMP and i am sorry - but i still think “personality issues” are soo hot - because that’s why we choose Obama – that’s why we cheerfully enjoy what idiots and lunatics have to say – and that’s why i would wish LWM also could kiss shooter - and Heru - and Sinnard – and adnoto - a little peek on shooters ‘red’ little cheeks and the deep throated ones for the other dudetts and dudes – and I just see it in front of my eyes - like this picture of Breschnew kissing Honecker – (do you look more like Berschnew or Honecker? LWM) – BECAUSE i need them as desperate as Bush or O Reilly - because they made me becoming a 'good girl" and i want to stay like that -

and did i mention i am cute too!

  • and i didn't read Conrads letter -

before i posted my letter - god do i love you man - can i give you a kiss too but not the bad ones - on of the good and honest ones - pleease!

  • They will track down this Anne

    Ron Pauliac,

I don't see anything to weep about. I read AK's letter, and there's nothing in it which any reporter couldn't likely find out about Governor Palin at the Wasilla city hall. The NYT is making her a celebrity, it seems, as they would probably any Democrat who claims to know the Governor and writes "Sarah hates me".

Without knowing the lady, that line in the letter claiming the Governor "hates" the writer makes one wonder if maybe it is the other way round. And cricitizing Mayor Palin for adopting a "regressive" sales tax to alleviate local property taxes is a laughable criticism. Every community outside the State of Oregon routinely does the same thing when they get the chance to vote on it. It's popular to reduce property taxes with sales taxes!

And by the way, just how did that rumor get started on the internet that baby Trig was the daughter's baby, not Governor Palin's. The letter writer says the baby was Sarah's. At least in the particular letter I read.

Assuming the letter writer is real, I'm sure she is trying to inform people. But I can't help be reminded of the Lady in Key West Florida and the Hemingway House.

A "friend of animals" lady moved into town and gained the confidence of people at the Hemingway House, who allowed her in after hours to look after the cats. By the time they learned she had been taking them to a vet and having them spayed and neutered, there were almost no kitten bearers left of the descendants who had lived at the Hemingway House since the 1930s.

In retaliation for being banned from the property, this woman went to the National Parks Service and almost got the house shut down for having an unauthorized "zoo", caught the cats every time they strayed off the property and had them spayed and neutered, and has caused huge expenditures to the HH to meet federal bureaucratic guidelines as a "zoo". Formerly the house sold kittens, now there are barely enough to have a presense on the property.

As someone once advised me when I was in office. "Not everyone can help you get elected. But anyone can hurt you." Even Flakes with an axe to grind.
