From the above link:
# This week, two of his "close friends" were convicted of stealing money during an FBI sting operation.
# He has "reinvented" the sheriff's office, "expanding its reach, doubling its budget and polarizing its ranks. His high-profile approach has strayed into empire-building, some believe, and he now faces a rare threat that could make this term his last," according to a profile in the Star Tribune last week.
# He's the subject of a blog Fletcher Exposed.

# In 2004, he had his agency arrest his teenage son.

But it was EMPTY by then !!!
Believe it or not, advocating the physical disruption of someone else's function is not acceptable or legal behavior.
Unless they're anti-abortion people. In which case, firebombing the facilities and shooting people dead it just A-OK.
Cheers,

A few sinister items:
Photographs and maps of downtown St. Paul
Hollowed out puppets
Digital camera equipment
etc.
Under the "probable cause" section, item 2 says:
The possession of the property described above constitutes a crime.
To quote Porky Pig in another context, "Gee, they sure are strict around here."
Shooter, you do realize, that by your logic, the cops would have to raid all those fundie Christian groups who advocate Armageddon and the end of the world. So is your suggestion to raid all their churches, seize all their property and charge them with conspiracy?
Apparently you did not bother to read the link that Glen posted. Whether you want to believe it or not just "advocating violence" is not reason enough to be arrested. Just because you want to believe something is true, doesn't necessarily mean that it is true. In this case you happen to be dead wrong.
So now you say inciting people to riot is protected speech? That's good to know. Then I guess we'll see if it comes to pass.
In order: yes, it is. Yes, it is. Yes, we will.
Simple, eh?
Can I presume that guarding one's property from intrusion is still legal? I'm looking forward to seeing some rock throwers tasered.
It was, until your lot decided to trade the 4th Amendment away. And why am I not surprised you desire to see violence and injury done civilians?
Meanwhile, regarding the Supremes ruling that the KKK spouting off is protected, perhaps you can tell us why burning a cross isn't.

Possibly you're not telling the whole story? Hmmmm?
Possibly you can't appreciate the difference of the two acts, the difference between an act of speech and an affirmative act of intimidation?
Again, why am I not surprised?
If people weren't doing something wrong in the first place, the nice policemen wouldn't be arresting them!
There's some indication that there's a federal connection there, which I'm trying to understand and get a clearer sense of. Glenn Greenwald

I just wanted to point out something about the urine. First of all, it's not a crime to have urine in a household. Someone else pointed out that it can also be used for tanning, well the point I want to make is this: I live with older people in a house in which our family has lived in for quite a long time (before even, the use of the toilet was common). And believe it or not but chamber pots are still used in my household today! I assume it's a holdover from the olden days (yes the ppl in my house are that old!). But certainly if the police raided my house at five in the morning, they would find pots of urine. Does that make my 90 year old grandma a terrorist? I don't think so.
It's also understandable that with 25 people in the house that was raided, and with the bathroom probably being very crowded, some of the tenents probably figured it would be easier to just pee in a bucket. Makes sense to me.
So, by my standards, I don't see why the urine thing is such a big deal. On some of the local paper sites, I saw commenters who were using the fact that the cops found urine as evidence that these people had to be "terrorists". Again, what it comes down to is the fact that it's not illegal to have urine in your house, Heck, a century ago it would have been expected in just about every household.
If everyone is not yet doing so, and I presume you are, reposting revealing this information everywhere quickly - this will assist those who want to share in the freedom to speak, as only lots of exposure can help abuse from proliferating in the shadows.
I just reposted GG's article on la.indymedia.org for Los Angeles, plus another blog or two. Congressional Letter- writing is less effective than this blaring openly & loudly everywhere discriminately - to be sure nothing can be 'overlooked' or 'denied' or ignored. And if any facts are later not so exactly reported by high-funded corp-medias later, it dont matter none, as the cry has already been delivered - been screamed into this catcher's net.
Thanks to all who provide us this hidden view of the *fear* that the police, their owners and buyers, and the convention-business owners must have -for them to attempt such harsh tactics.[and probably illegal ]
Thanks to Glenn and all those who further comment on this, as each exposed e-letter adds to the pile to make the story further visible- and there are more than devoted Saloner types. I hope each person also sends their own letter to all their contacts as "info" with pride and to encourage more open speak-up-and-out.
Yep, dump that old TV and the fake movies that pretend this US of Anger & Intimidation is laughing and smiling and just selling stuff. This place is the preferred instantaneous resource - it is my lifeline now. no need for digitalizing TV more, just give us the truth as you know it.in this net.
When we activists are pressured, we react in BOTH ways - we get scared but we also get reactive and rebellious, so the over-powered use of hard tactics also have strong unintended consequences-- we just get braver, angrier and more active in some other ways - not just cringe, crawl, cry or vote. yep. gotta.
