    Allie

if you can freely report Constitutional violations, yet nothing happens as a result, does it matter if you have a free press?

I keep hearing people say things like, "If you lived in China you wouldn't even know these things are happening!"

    SO?

Are the citizens of Minneapolis rallying to march on the police station, level it, and reestablish the rule of law? That's what's called for here.

Instead what's going to happen is that a few yippies on Salon will bitch a lot and things will go on as they were. Except that I may end up on some watch list for pointing out that the police should not be used as the private army of one political party. -- Allie_

Agreed Allie. I would take issue with only one portion of your comment. The idea that the police are used as the private army of one political party. Wait... actually you are completely correct. The Republicans and the Democrats are one political party. But if you really want to be more precise... the police are used as the private army of the Establishment Elite. The "rule of law" (such as it is) and the police are not there to serve and protect the average citizen. They are there for crowd control and intimidation to keep the average joe's and jane's in line.

The rest of the comment is unquestionably accurate.

    Thanks Allie
