Yes, Che it was Santa Rita.
Glenn, I didn't just get involved in political organizing eight years ago. I didn't just notice that things were fucked up in this country in 2006. I have been involved in this stuff since 1992, the first gulf war and have been arrested in these kinds of situations in various states, cities and even countries. And not as a lawyer, but as a pretty poor non-white ativist wondering why there were only white people at these demonstrations and why I was never able to take enough time off work or have enough money to go to Seattle and elsewhere.
No I wasn't there, but I feel pretty confident about my statement, and your video indicates the truth prima facae. Most members of Food Not Bombs, and other organizations that coalesce around Indy Media to demonstrate at national level events are mostly white and mostly affluent. Think about it for a moment--a group of people who can take a week off and travel from across the country and risk geting arrested? I would in fact be surprised if they weren't. Its an issue that's been at the forefront of these kinds of politics for over a decade and one that the left in this case is very vulnerable on.
On this issue, you are the one getting up to speed. I respect your expertise on questions of constitutional law and respect your capapcity for research. But I was angry about this shit when you were one of the apathetic affluent people we were extolling to wake up and get active.
