Whether one wants to assert that the FBI tipped her up, for the media to set her up, for the radical, leftist™ blogoshpere to knock her down ... who knows. But, your average nighttime news consumer is being fed a carefully scripted story that the case is now reasonably closed.

Emergent BioSolutions Inc. (NYSE: EBS) announced that it has completed the acquisition of all assets and rights related to a recombinant protective antigen (rPA) anthrax vaccine product candidate and related technology from VaxGen, Inc.

Recent improvements to the rPA vaccine, specifically related to stability, suggests that it is well positioned to be a leading candidate for an award under a request for proposal (RFP) recently issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The vaccine candidate has completed one Phase 2 clinical study.

This RFP is designed to meet the government's stated goal to procure 25 million doses of an rPA anthrax vaccine for the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS). HHS has indicated that any awards under this RFP are scheduled to be granted in late 2008.

What that means is that Emergent and Battelle are now the sole-source manufacturers of all U.S. anthrax vaccine (given to U.S. soldiers today). In 1999 and 2000, Emergent (then Bioport) had its facilities shut down and all vaccine was then made for them by Battelle - apparently Emergent is now making their vaccine in Michigan.

The vaccination has to be repeated on a regular basis as it wears off within a year or so, and it requires at least six initial injections over a series of weeks and months - all billed to a private company. Of course, since the fall anthrax attacks of 9/18 and 10/9, no one is currently questioning the need to vaccinate our troops against anthrax. And, of course, the vaccine is "safe and effective".

This is just one branch of our wonderful "Homeland Security" contracting system - the Project Bioshield arm. I imagine the rest of it is just as rotten and corrupt as this one is.

It was odd. He started off with a couple of shots across Glenn's bow but jumped on the bus once he saw how many just do not believe the government on this issue. Like a politician he saw a parade going the other way, made a U-turn, and claimed he was leading the parade.

I do not believe the FBI given what I think I know at this time; but I might change my mind if all their cards are laid upon the table and the story makes sense. (not holding my breath, mind you)

I do not believe the official 9-11 story as put out by the Bush administration. It has way too many holes and coincidences to be credible. I hope that someday the real story will come out. (not holding my breath)

I do not believe the Warren Commission on the JFK assassination. The report was preposterous. Someday we may know the real story. (not holding ...)

As a matter of fact, any story that comes out of DC is suspect on the face of it. It will be self-serving at the very least. And with the "secrecy state" we have now, it is almost impossible to ferret out the truth.

First, I agree, this line of debate is way off issue.

The Madrid building was reinforced concrete with some non-fireproofed steel in the upper stories. That exposed steel failed and caused partial collapse of the building. The reinforced concrete center structure didn't fail, but that's different than the WTC.

As to your question re: steel structure buildings, obviously there aren't any. However, (and I don't know this) how many steel structure buildings like WTC have been hit by planes and/or suffered serious fires or damage? It seems like the WTC design was really innovative at the time and may have suffered some design flaws (just theorizing now).

Read the past thread were you gave no evidence that America is so unique that of all the countries to ever exist on the planet Earth, only the exceptional USA needed a war to end slavery. I gave all kinds of evidence. Even though the war was over the tariff anyway, and not slavery until it was convenient for the president who started it; you still can not justify it on the slavery angle because every other country in the world did it without war.

Damn! Just like Bush II, the reason for the war change as the war went on. Imagine that!
