From the UCLA department of epidemiology, who qouted a 2001 Baltimore Sun article:
By Scott Shane, Sun Staff
For nearly a decade, U.S. Army scientists at Dugway Proving Ground in Utah have made small quantities of weapons-grade anthrax that is virtually identical to the powdery spores used in the mail attacks that have killed five people, government sources say.
Until the anthrax attacks led to tighter security measures, anthrax grown at Dugway was regularly sent by Federal Express to the Army's biodefense center at Fort Detrick, in Frederick, where the bacteria were killed using gamma radiation before being returned to Dugway for experiments. ...
So, it has been known since at least 2001 that the source may be at Dugway. Odd that has never been in my local papers in all this mess. Odd indeed.
On top of all that; what the hell is the US doing shipping anthrax around the country using commercial package services? I have had computer parts shipped to me via that service. Damn.
They are just getting down right silly now...

Okay she knew about the charges because Ivins told her...but still, she seems to know too much about his past from a few group therapy sessions.
I for one am glad that Glenn writes his blog and not you, because you (and others equally bright) would have deliberately suppressed all this information in your infinite and paternal and ever-so-highly-moral wisdom.
Maybe you and Larry E can share a blug.
Point stands
It will be a criminal trial. Something about anthrax murder. And it doesn't matter if she's not the defendant. Rule 609. -- Attorney, eh?
Irrelevant speculation. This is not a courtroom, it's a blog, and Glenn is trying to use a weak link to game public (and media) opinion in real time, while it's still fluid. What he is doing is ugly, but not "inadmissible" given the venue.
Furthermore, I was referring only to her claim that she was threatened by Ivins, not her expert evaluation of Ivin's mental health. -- Attorney, eh?
But the media isn't restricting itself to anything so precise and defensible. Her status as a mental health care professional is in the description of every quote they've used. Absent pushback of the sort that Glenn is engaged in, they'd have elevated her to the status of "psychiatrist" by now. His tactic is ugly and of dubious morality, but applying courtroom standards to this media venue is bogus. The "other side" is not restricted to "admissible" information in this environment.
... I am talking about a very specific assertion of lack of credibility and the use of irrelevant criminal records to back it up. -- Attorney, eh?
Given a number of instances of alleged misconduct on the part of the FBI during this investigation, it's not illegitimate for Glenn to discuss her history. Her past may have been used to pressure her into things she wouldn't have said or done if she weren't leaned on. But the media has totally ignored her vulnerabilities in it's efforts to caricature the dead man as a psycho killer freak.
that shows Duley had an actual "theripy" practice. Did Ivins know she wasn't a real "theripist"? That is fraud.
So, you're conceding that "isolated lunatics" like the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Vice President of the United States have "entertained" killing Americans as a pretext for military operations at various times in our history...but cooler heads always prevail. phew!
I agree that they could both be characterized as lunatics, but just how "isolated" are they? You make it sound as if Cheney is living in a cabin in Montana.
I'm curious...what makes a theory "insane"? Is it proportional with your ability to conceive of it?
When I watch footage of WTC7 collapsing symmetrically, at near free-fall speed into its own footprint, I ask myself..."How could a 47 story, steel-framed tower that was not hit by an airplane, collapse at near free-fall speed through the path of greatest resistance, without the aid of explosives?". The "official theory" which you subscribe to, is that isolated fires on two of the 47 floors, and asymmetrical damage to one corner of the building from falling debris - caused the complete, sudden, symmetrical, free-fall speed collapse of the building into a neat, tidy pile.
The "insane" theory is that the building was brought down by controlled demolition.
L.W.M., I respect your opinions and your right to post them here. However, if the only argument you have with my "insane" theory is that "you don't think it pans out", then you have no argument. Calling a theory insane because you can't wrap your mind around it is just lazy. Have you watched footage of WTC7? Do you know anything at all about it? Seriously...If you did, you'd have as many questions as myself and the over 400 Architects and Engineers who are members of ae911truth.org. They know a lot more about building collapses than you and me put together, and they have unanswered questions. Shouldn't that be enough to pique your curiousity just a little?
A few questions to get you started...
Why wasn't the collapse even mentioned by the 9/11 Commission?
Why did the BBC report it's collapse 20 minutes before it actually fell? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejjySUVOGKA
Why was there a massive pool of molten metal below the building site for months after 9/11? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCdRA09pztM
Is it really "insane" to have questions like these? These are all legitimate, sincere questions about 9/11 that have nothing to do with a "simple minded desire to have simple explanations and answers for very complex sets of questions."
How is US government complicity in the attacks of 9/11 a simple minded explanation??? sigh...
I guess you're right. The evildoers did it because they hate our freedom.
but it is the wildly inflammatory "evidence" from Jean Duley's restraining order that the MSM is reporting in order to seal the deal on Ivins. It is just way too convenient, if you ask me. Imagine if there were NO evidence that he had ever seen a psychiatrist, never been in a counseling session, never been branded a homicidal sociopathic killer, etc etc. She might have well been set up to spill that particular can of beans...
I've been following this since Glenn's first article and I believe I've read every post here and on the other two, and I must say, guys, this is the place to go to for information.
I'm still vacillating between belief that the FBI is stocked with maniacally evil geniuses who can pull off the perfect frame, or the alternative that they are so incompetent they couldn't find their way out of a parking garage.
