FBI Seizes Library Computers, by Comfort Dorn & Adam Behsudi
. . . Darrell Batson, director of Frederick Co. Public Libraries, said two FBI employees came to the downtown Frederick library either Wed or Thurs. The agents removed two public computers from the libraries second floor. They told him they were taking the units back to their office in Washington, D.C., Batson said.
This was the 3rd time in his 10 years with FCPL that the FBI has come to the library seeking records, Batson said. It was the FIRST time they came without a court order. [new FISA, huh,?]
The library's procedure for such requests usually requires a court order, however after the agents described the case and the situation, he was persuaded to give them access, Batson said.
"They had an awful lot of information," he said, but he was not allowed to discuss specifics.
. . . the library has several dozen public computers. The agents seemed to know which ones they needed access to, he said.
Anyone with a library card and a PIN number can use FCPL computers. Without a library card, a person can get a temporary pass to go online.
Batson said the agents made no mention of Bruce Ivins, anthrax or Fort Detrick.
"Obviously it coincided with the events everyone is talking about", he said.
How convenient that Ivins "committed suicide" just as the Justice Department was about to charge him with responsibility for the attacks! I guess we won't hear much about the anthrax story anymore. Another key 9/11 story will be left largely undisturbed!
The letter that was sent to Brokaw, pictured in this article puzzles me on one thing: If the author writes "penacilin", we would assume that his English is not that great. Then, why would he write dates in the American style (mm-dd-yyyy)? Arabs write dd-mm-yyyy. And trust me, as a non-American, it is one of the last things you get used to, writing dates the American style, - but Americans do it by heart, just like they talk about inches before centimeters.
Anyway, just an observation.
For a very long time, years, I have been asking others what they have read or heard about the anthrax scare so prominent a while back and no one had an answer. When I googled for information, there was nothing political I could find. I knew I just had to wait, and when the political ripe time would arrive, more would appear.
The news explosion of finding one man accused of mental illness or religious zeal or whatever diminishment is needed to explain how he could have done this all himself and not be found out long ago is very suspicious.
Forget what is called 'conspiracy' wonders, for they are seldom more theoretical than any other group's version of events, especially around Iraq truths and make-up-stories-lies. It would be more reasonable to wonder if there was some good timing to the anthrax fear-mongering and publicity, that made good political atmosphere for any intimidation and any manipulations desired by whomever benefited from such.
Or that if only 1 person did all the harm by himself and no one else knew or cared or supervised or reprimanded or took control of that lab or suspected or was this one man was so very clever to keep his acts and ideas only to himself? Then he was brilliant and he makes our paid intelligence services look dumb. Is this possible?
Does it not appear that those who gain from these fear-expanding acts and the lack of control in any scientific lab [many many of which have poisonous or dangerous substances galore and spills as well and accidents too ] would also cleverly hide their participation in that what benefits them ? That one person alone can have access to the substance or even mail it out for any purpose, but it takes a village to make it a big dramatic story, just as 5 people dying is not a huge number compared to other accidents that occur every year or month. Not good but not a big huge event, like Katrina and other floods, or bridges falling, buses toppling or even a serial killer in the neighborhood. Those are as dangerous but not parlayed out to make every person receiving mail become fear full and worried.
Sure sounds like there is a lot of cover-ups and then a simple, too simple explanation suddenly appearing. No questions allowed. Just accept the official version, again ?
Thank you for doing such good research and pursuing this topic and exposing what you do know.
We need your input and courage in this scare and more...as another is probably being concocted up right now before the next November elections. no ?
No action on this for almost SEVEN years, and then just before this Administration takes its ill-gotten gains out the door, this poor bastard commits suicide?
Why would he use acetaminophen when he apparently had a gun? Frankly, I find it odd that a guy uses pills, that's usually a chick thing, unless we're talking debilitating disease and weakened physical condition.
And NO autopsy? WTF?
Did anyone read the comments of his alleged therapist? #1 she violated patient-client privilege and HIPAA, #2 she read like she didn't graduate from high school, let alone college.
Glenn Greenwald, you are correct... there are unresolved questions. Maybe I should put on my tinfoil hat, but I don't trust or believe anything out of this Adminstration.
And where's his suicide note?
Wake up with a hangover, shooter?
This is absolutely the stupidest thing I have heard yet.
Here, try some of these:
"Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job."
"You work three jobs? … Uniquely American, isn't it? I mean, that is fantastic that you're doing that."
"It's totally wiped out. ... It's devastating, it's got to be doubly devastating on the ground."
"And they have no disregard for human life."
"Let's make sure that there is certainty during uncertain times in our economy."
"And so the fact that they purchased the machine meant somebody had to make the machine. And when somebody makes a machine, it means there's jobs at the machine-making place."
"I don't want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf. I feel I owe it to the families to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal."
"I'll be long gone before some smart person ever figures out what happened inside this Oval Office."
"So long as I'm the president, my measure of success is victory -- and success."
"Wait a minute. What did you just say? You're predicting $4-a-gallon gas? ... That's interesting. I hadn't heard that."
"I can press when there needs to be pressed; I can hold hands when there needs to be -- hold hands."
And that's just this year so far.
So if Mona's so stupid, how come she's not the Republican candidate for president?
