Are frightened sheep, scared of form and not substance .....scared of an electronic image or electronic recording of the voice of a real wolf ..... easily manipulated.
The problem is not from without ...... it is from within.
The problem is those who say they care for us.
"We have met the enemy and he is us" .... Pogo
As you are well aware, life is a series of multiple choices.
And the answer is always "None of the above"
Or as the Yiddish proverb has it: Azoy vert dos kichel tzekrochen (That's how the cookie crumbles)
which they dutifully and understandably reported as "the truth" ... and have since refused to disclose who their "4 highly placed sources" (of disinformation) were ...
it's like the Prague Meeting and the Niger yellowcake ... and a lot of the stuff that was spoonfed to Judy Miller so it could appear on the front page of the "the paper of record" as "the truth"
It looks and smells like disinformation --- who was selling this odious tripe?
KO interviews 9/11 expert and examines if Ivins acted alone or if darker forces played a role. Many more questions than answers

Although the "line-break" thing might be one reason to use them. Is that what you had in mind?-- Derbig Mooser
No. That url is a clickable link on my computer because I have downloaded some 'clickable link' thingy on my mozilla firefox. I think it's called Linkification. Probably not. That url might look blacklined to you. To me it is blue, and it runs in a continuous line. I just click on it and it opens in new window, or whatever window I choose to open it in, and there it is...a website.
The reason I suggested to that person to use tinyurl is obvious if you read what tinyurl accomplishes.
And then that other person who realized that it would be useful for sending emails to friends and relatives pointed out another useful purpose for using tinyurl. (So to whomever that was, you're welcome. Glad I could help).
In my original post on this subject I was only trying to help that person who later got all huffy at me to become aware of a useful tool on the internet.
Glenn, you are magnificent, simply the one of the best journalists at work in the US today! And that's pretty fine company for the handful who dare. As I've said before, you're the real thing....a great, american hero. May you be safe, and blessed.
Thank-you!!!
Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government abuse and corruption, said today that the Bush administration has failed to provide a complete and accurate response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request concerning the decision to place White House staff on a regimen of the powerful antibiotic, Cipro, the same day as the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. By contrast, U.S. Postal Service workers from Washington, DC’s Brentwood Postal Facility – Judicial Watch clients – were denied antibiotic treatment, even after it became apparent that the Brentwood facility had been contaminated. Judicial Watch represents the Brentwood Postal workers in various legal proceedings against government officials who put their lives in jeopardy.

The quote above is from a Judicial Watch press release dated January 10, 2003. Clearly, Richard Cohen was not the only one who found out that the government was onto Cipro before the anthrax mailings occurred. If Cheney was included among those taking Cipro, the reports about his "belief" that he had been exposed to a fatal dose of anthrax become even more curious...
...before I clock out, heh.
Maybe the reason I'm not too concerned about federal agents reading what I say is because I'm not a conspiracy theorist. I don't believe that g-men or military officers or DMV clerks are sinister automatons, willingly serving the concomitant goals of George Bush's frat brothers. In the context of recorded history, a couple of attempted political assasinations and a spurious military campaign are positively yawn-inducing (think ancient Rome).
It only induces a sense of urgency within me because it is happening right now, in front of my eyes, in my country, which happens to be one of the greatest ever.
I am a veteran myself, and the only reason I can live in "normal" society and not own any tinfoil hats, yet still speak seriously about defending my home against potential storm-troopers--yes, even ones with American flag pins on their lapels--is because I trust that the real human beings who make up our actual, publicly-financed intelligence and military sectors would not obey orders like that if it came right down to it. I pray that the fat cats currently enjoying their run on our national treasury have greatly misunderstood what truly motivates our men and women in uniform, even if they have followed orders for now. A draft-dodging, overgrown, spoiled brat like Dick Cheney might be able to pull off some Mayberry machiavelli maneuvers against his equally soft 'n pasty nemeses in the US Senate, and might even be able to gain the unsettled complicity of some Army generals or government scientists. But I'm not really too worried about Sergeant Smalltown or Federal Agent Suburbs breaking down my door anytime soon, because underneath the pond scum on top, this country is still made up of mostly good people.
So it is that I can keep my tone half in jest, even a mere forty years after another proud, "civilized" nation told itself "it can't be happening here. They're just sending those people to labor camps for the duration of the war."
This is a NON story. Is this conspiracy Friday. The man has a history of mental health problems. He has been seeing a pyhchiatrist for years.
The real story is why was this guy working a government Anthrax lab with the kinds of sociopath problems he had.
-is because I trust that the real human beings who make up our actual, publicly-financed intelligence and military sectors would not obey orders like that if it came right down to it
They had absolutely no hesitation in invading and sacking a country harmless to us, and not engaged in hostilities against us. They detain, invade houses and torture on command. They think their job consists of fighting women, children and civilian cars. And when the Army comes back from Iraq, what the hell else are they gonna do? They don't know how to do anything else.
I'm counting on you to take a few of 'em out tho. Just keep firing till you go down!
