I'm not even a journalist but even I know that ABC was the first major US media outlet that was taken over by the CIA, back in the 1940s or 50's. Google Operation Mockingbird. Why anybody believes a word ABC says, ever, is beyond me. Actually by now I think that of all TV news outlets. If they tell me it's raining I look out my window to see if they're lying again.

Also, I've also gone through a couple of pages of comments and WHERE is the discussion about Dr. Philip Zack? You know, the guy who'd JUST been fired for a racially motivated attack against Dr. Assad, the first guy (an Egyptian scientist) they tried to pin this on. Dr. Zack was on the security tape that showed him in the anthrax lab, removing a sample at a time when he was NOT authorized to be there. Because he'd been fired.

"Death to Israel." HELLO? Que BONO? This. Is. NOT. Hard.

It "reveals" the "homicidal and suicidal" tendencies that have been diagnosed by Ivins' psychiatrist. The psychiatrist himself,presumably, could have not made this information public on his own.

There is definitely a LOT more to investigate here. I wonder who was the woman whose desk he had to decontaminate. And if they have known since late 2001 that the anthrax came from a government lab, and therefore only a limited number of persons had access to the anthrax, why has it taken the FBI so long to investigate? Of course none of us knows the full story, but the pieces that are coming to light just in this comments thread make it look like something is just not right.

Like I said, I don't know that the affidavit is real. Looks fake to me, however, the questions remain. Who is she and how did she become Ivins' social worker? Was she assigned to his case and if so, by whom?

When I initially looked at your link, my first thought was, Yeah - case notes are typically cryptic the assumption being only the person writing them will likely ever read them. My second thought was, Oh - Court affidavit. Wonder if she filled it out herself. And if she did, why no cited credentials.

A quick Google search indicates she is a social worker. Typically, that's an MSW or an LCSW. I've never seen a professional make an assertion about someone's mental history, or mental status without signing with their credentials.

You don't need those creds to be a really good therapist. I know some beauticians who have great instincts. Generally, however, they don't have admitting privileges to mental health facilities. And, you don't assign them high profile cases.

So, yeah. Who is Jean C. Duley?

There should exist a licensing body for journalists -- one that requires minimal knowledge of constitutional law, libel law, statistics, etc.

There should also be standards set up by that body for what constitutes reasonable, ethical journalistic practice.

The last thing the USA needs now is more shelter laws for journalists: when they err right now, they do so on such a scale that prison is totally appropriate.

If this affidavit is real, I'd question her "professional" credentials. How do you spell theripist? Good grief!

By virtue of my occupation, I can tell you that bentonite is common clay, and silica is common sand; two items that are high on the list of contaminants common to ANY environment. Presence in a sample of ANYTHING would probably indicate nothing more than careless handling.

Richard Cohen, along with any other so-called "journalist" who received a tip about taking Cipro during the anthrax scare and failed to pass that tip along to his audience, is as much a war criminal as anyone in this administration, and should be treated as such. Past practice regarding war criminals has been execution.

I believe this is the first time I have read one of your posts. It certainly won't be the last. Thank you for shining a light into the dark, tangled undergrowth of this "administration."
