Breaking news on CNN that FBI will now close their anthrax investigation. They also reported that a recent restraining order had been filed against Ivins by an unnamed person because Ivins was evidently harrasing this person. CNN then reported that Ivins had spent time in a mental facility. Someone is really trying to push the idea that Ivins was unstable to back up the suicide.

Maybe I'm just a tin foil hat person but I'm not convinced that Ivins was involved. I'm still wondering if he wasn't set up to take the fall because he knew too much.

I still have a lot of questions about this case. Why was Ivins being forced to retire at 62? Who let him know that he was going to be prosecuted for the anthrax mailings? If it was the government, why would they alert the killer of 5 people that they were going after him? Ivins funeral is being held at a Catholic church. If he was Catholic did he believe that suicide was a mortal sin? Someone convince me that this guy is guilty and not just a fall guy.

The administration didn't need undisputable evidence to attack Iraq. How many different reasons have been given so far: WMD's, link to Al-CIAda, gassing his own people, bringing democracy to Iraq, etc. Every reason so far has been refuted. As I stated in an earlier post, the main targets were two Senators that were holding up passage of the pre-written Patriot Act, sitting on a shelf, waiting for an event to occur so the administration could push it through.

So when will McCain & the neocons suggest that the air war against Maryland begin? I believe the logic is that we have to fight "them" there before we fight them here (I live the the "heartland," natch!). Will profiling now include white Princeton educated guys?

IRAQ WATCH: There are signs that the Bush administration gets the Iraq problem. The U.S. ambassador to the U.N., John Negroponte, marched into the Iraqis' U.N. office and told them to keep their heads down in the coming days and weeks. The anthrax attack in Florida might well have an Iraqi connection. As the Washington Post reports, "Czech officials said that Mohamed Atta, believed to have piloted one of the commercial airliners that slammed into the World Trade Center, met in Prague with Ahmed Khalil Ibrahim Samir Al-Ani, a former consul and second secretary at the Iraqi Embassy in Prague, before traveling to the United States in June 2000. Al-Ani was expelled from the Czech Republic last April for what the Czech foreign ministry described as activities 'incompatible with his diplomatic status.'" There's no sign yet that we're preparing an attack on Iraq, but every sign that this is still an option - if one that Colin Powell seems sure to oppose. Lets hope events make this second phase possible; and that Colin Powell sees the light.

AND THEN THERE WERE THREE: And you thought I was being paranoid? The key thing to look for is whether there is any Iraqi connection to the Florida anthrax outbreak. If there is, then this war will be expanded, whatever Colin Powell wants. I had my own bio-chemical jitter today. Walking back from NPR, I saw two separate pigeons flailing in distress on the sidewalk, one block apart. A man walking nearby saw me notice and said he had contacted the public health department. Almost certainly nothing - but you don't realize how unconsciously you're looking out for things until you see them in front of you. I felt like I was in the opening chapters of Camus' "La Peste."

In the nearly 7 years since the attacks by airplanes and anthrax, research into what really happened has gained momentum, insight and credence.

In addition to the important question that Glenn has raised in today's important column, here are 14 other questions (courtesy of David Ray Griffin) folks are trying to answer (ample documentation supplied upon request):

1. If, as the government claims, Osama was the mastermind, why does the FBI not list 9/11 as one of the attacks for which he is wanted and admits it "has no hard evidence connecting bin Laden to 9/11."

2. If the planes were hijacked by four devout Muslims on a jihad to heaven, why are Atta and the others documented ans drinking heavily, patronizing strip clubs and paying for sex?

3. What cell phones calls were actually made from the hijacked airplanes? According to the FBI, only two cell phones calls were made, both from United 93, shortly before it crashed/was shot down. One from a flight attendant; one from a passenger calling 911.

4. Why did Ted Olson lie about speaking to his wife, Barbara, who was on AA 77? According to the FBI, the only call attempted by her was "unconnected" and lasted "0 seconds."

5. Why does *all* of the other evidence (besides the phone calls) implicated Muslim hijackers show clear signs of being fabricated?

6. Given the FAA and military's record on intercepting within 10 minutes any aircraft showing any sign of emergency, was something done to prevent standard procedures from being carried out on 9/11 to prevent the interception of 4 airliners, especially considering no one has even been reprimanded for dereliction of duty?

7. Did Secretary of Transportation Mineta report a stand-down order from Dick Cheney prior to the attack on the Pentagon when Mineta told the 9/11 Commission that, as he watched an unidentified aircraft approach D.C. on radar, Cheney was asked multiple times, "Do the orders still stand?" and Cheney's reply was always yes?

8. Why did the 9/11 Commission scrub Mineta's testimony from its report and from the video record of its proceedings?

9. How could Hani Hanjour, known as a terrible pilot who could not handle a single-engine Cessna, have executed the stunt-flying manuever of AA 77 in order to hit Wedge 1 of the Pentagon?

10. Did the Secret Service, by allowing Bush to remain in the classroom in Flordia after the 2nd WTC attack reveal its foreknowledge that Bush was not a target that day?

11. Steel-frame high-rise buildings have never suffered total, symmetrical collapses except due to explosives during controlled demolitions. Why does the official explanation by Bush appointed "scientists" to NIST contradict all prior history, a history which includes skyscrapers being hit by jetliners flown at speeds faster than those measureed on 9/11?

12. Why do firefighters, emergency medical workers, police officers, city officials, WTC employees, television and print journalists all report detonations going off in the Twin Towers and WTC7 just prior to their symmetrical and total collapses?

13. Why has NIST repeated postponed its report on the collapse for almost 7 years on WTC7, a building which perfectly exemplifies the features of a classic controlled demolition, identified as such by demolition experts around the world?

14. Why does the group www.ae911truth.org have currently 419 professional, licensed architects and engineers who all describe the destruction of all three WTC Towers as controlled demolitions?
