The way I remember that election the polls were all over the place because there were so many 'contenders'. It was clear that Arnold had a good shot at it but not at all a done deal until it was a done deal.

Contenders from Gary Coleman to some stripper To Ariana Huffington made the polls murky to say the least. So there was really no way to tell what the outcome would be until it was over.

If they were doing odds in Vegas, which I'm sure they were' some people lost their shirts. I doubt that it was barely possible to accurately poll a mess like that.

Fired and ostracized comes first. Ignored comes second. You cannot ignore those who have a voice. No matter how in the tank or in the stank those voices are. They have to be dealt death blow after death blow until they are forced to fold up their tent and spend the remainder of their lives crying to their relatives in private.

You may have missed it, but renowned Time columnist Joe Klein and the Jewish neoconservative blogosphere are at war with one another. The reason this is more important than an argument on who sits where in shul is that Klein has refused to cower, and as a respected member of the mainstream media is pushing back against one of the uglier and more debate-restricting phenomena of recent years. Here is what Joe had to say on 'Swampland', his blog on the Time website:

There is a small group of Jewish neoconservatives who unsuccessfully tried to get Benjamin Netanyahu to attack Saddam Hussein in the 1990s, and then successfully helped provide the intellectual rationale for George Bush to do it in 2003... Why should I bother about Rove, considering I'd hardly heard of him apart from the fact that the American press called him "Dubya's brain" or something like that.
