    You are right ........ the state of the nation is not an indictment of the govt or the lying murdering crooked corporations but ultimately an indictment of its citizens.

    An analogy :

    The fox and the chickens and the farmer.

    This nation (the chickens) is being plundered and its people exploited by a corrupt govt that works for big money.

    Together they constitute the fox.

    The farmer is the public whose responsibility it is to make sure this country remain a republic and responsive to all the people's needs.

    Now, do you think the farmer is going to go to the fox and ask him to fix the holes in the chickenwire and otherwise secure the chickenhouse so the fox cannot kill/steal more chickens? (which is what the public is doing if they expect the govt to resolve the problems they are responsible for ).

    No, the farmer is going to get his gun and take the fox out of the picture. It is the only way.
