If a dachshund puppy wishes to catch a firefly while in mid-air-flight on a summer night,
Oh, Alleluia.
Maybe she will catch the little night bug?
She gulps the insect while in mid~flight.
Hallelujah.
Ah, Amen.

At this point I am voting for anyone but Senator Obama just because
your willful ignorance pisses me off.

Hm... willful ignorance. I dunno. It's definitely something. Gotta say, though, I believe bernbart's heart is in the right place; and I like her 'voice' here in these pages.
If McCain wins, there will be no more changes in FISA to correct the points you were against.
Has Obama made any statement to the effect that he will urge a change in the FISA law if he becomes President?
I vote:~ if you are in a public latrine on the Pennsylvania Turnpike,
and you need to flush a commode, flush with the right or left foot.
No tap the sore foot if you are in a public bathroom if a foot hurts.
You are correct. Among the films Jane Hamsher produced is Natural Born Killers. A movie I found both fascinating and well done. It is not supposed to make you feel good.
I was planning to be arrested with Cindy S. in DC. I got lost on the way to Lafayette Park. I was too Late. Fate? I was in enough darn legal troubles.
Cindy and I talked about The activist Brian Wilson. I don't know how California's masses view Cindy.... She's morally more upright than most.
She is more lovely than that poor Madams Pelosi .
I seemed to be getting arrested for everything?
I watched Cindy hauled off in a paddy wagon.
It's interesting discussion. Is a zipper down?
It's always okay to say:` Pull UP a Dang Fly!
I wasn't meaning to imply anything about your particular vote, though you seem to be one of the consistent ones in your beliefs, and that's said as a compliment.
Oh, I surely know that, and didn't mean at all to imply you were addressing me. Just setting forth the range of "libertarian" voting habits and relative reasonability -- by a long shot, we do not all vote 3rd party, LP. Like all ideologies, we has our nuts. (See Larry Johnson's NO QUARTER blog in the last 3-4 months if you doubt Democrats can also be insane.)
At this point I am voting for anyone but Senator Obama just because your willful ignorance pisses me off.

It is unfortunately not surprising that the NY Times gives air space to Benny Morris, who lost his mind, when Yasser Arafat did not settle for the "offer" that wasn't an offer, but hey WTF, the Palestinians were just supposed to take it, because their entire existence depends on Israeli largesse--at least that's the "logic" which fueled Morris' becoming more right wing than the right wing.
The NY Times operates under any assumption (mostly) that what Israel wants from the U.S. military or taxpayer, Israel gets. Doing public relations work for Israel is one of the functions of its editorial page, so no one should be shocked that Benny Morris is now advocating that the U.S. fall on Israel's sword and bomb Iran. What else is new?
By dutiful candidate, do you mean a candidate that walks LOCK Step with you. It appears that is what the FISA fit is all about marching LOCK STEP!!!
I still cannot believe that Glenn ans his followers, who claim to be liberals, are deliberately trying to sabotage the Obama campaign over the FISA vote. It was NOT Obama's fault the Dodd -Feingold amendment failed. Do you really think that Obama made his decision to vote for the final FISA vote in isolation without discussing it with Dodd & Feingold? It would have been a stupid political move to try a Filibuster, because they did not have the votes for it. The FISA was going to pass whether Obama voted No or Yes, If he had voted NO the republicans would be running Ads against Obama on the issue right now.
Your "proitest vote" for a third party candidate to "get back" at Obama is not only extremely immature, it justs plays right (no pun intended) into the hands of the McCain campaign. If McCain wins, there will be no more changes in FISA to correct the points you were against.
On the Blogging Heads link that Glenn used on this post it says, Jane Hamsher, Firedoglake, Killer Instinct film producer. Jane produced a movie that was titled "Natural Born Killers". Does anyone know if what they put on Blogging heads was a mistake, or does Jane have a production company named Killer Instinct?

This is her take on the FISA bill travesty from back when Speaker Pelosi sold us out. Sheehan posted it on her myspace blog on June 24th. Once she has her ballot signatures gathered and she has time to think about other things, I wouldn't be surprised if Sheehan became a strange bedfellow as well.
Unlike the professional politicians in the corporate owned uni-party that is the Dems/Reps, Sheehan gets it:
Dear Friend,
Today, we marched from City Hall in San Francisco to the Federal building where House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, has her district office. It was a memorial procession for our dearly departed, 4th amendment. If the US Senate doesn't bring it back from the dead, the House of Representatives murdered the 4th Amendment on Friday, June 20th (the day after Congress condemned thousands of humans to death by giving George W. Bush 163 billion to continue the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan).
Former US House of Representative's member from Georgia and current Green Party presidential hopeful, Cynthia McKinney, who is now the national campaign honorary chair for Cindy for Congress sent the following message to be read at the Federal building:
Last week, Nancy Pelosi helped deal a double blow to Democratic Party grassroots supporters and to the U.S. Constitution itself. On Thursday, June 19, George Bush got another $162 billion from the Congress for war and occupation. On Friday, June 20, Nancy helped Bush give immunity to telecommunications companies that helped him spy on us!!!
Fannie Lou Hamer of the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party remarked that she was sick and tired of being sick and tired. And she did something about it by standing up at the Democratic Party Convention that routinely had accepted all-white, non-representative state delegations from the South.
Well, I'm sick and tired and outraged, too. And I'm doing something about it.
Cindy Sheehan is my choice for Congress.
Nancy thinks that by November you will have forgotten about all of this.
Don't forget! Remember--in November!!
Vote Cindy!! Vote Cynthia!!
So many aspects of our foundation of American law have been destroyed or degraded during the Bush regime, with the help of a complicit Congress, that it is going to take a major overhaul of our government, not a cosmetic fix. Or even worse, no change of drivers, or course at all.
The attached iPhoto is a picture of two of our Cindy for Congress volunteers who led the procession. One represented death holding a symbolic coffin and another who held a copy of the dearly departed 4th Amendment. When we reached the Federal building, we eulogized the Amendment, tore it up, and then delivered it to Nancy's office where a visibly irritated staffer received the remains from us.
4th Amendment: RIP
December 15, 1791 to June 20, 2008
We mourn the rule of law that is at death's door, but what we mourn even more is the fact that every citizen of this once Constitutional republic is not deeply saddened by this awful turn of events.
Sorrowfully,
Cindy Sheehan
PS: Today, before our funeral processional, Cindy for Congress turned in the first batch of petition signatures to the election department at City Hall. We needed 3000 signatures to file and we turned in exactly 3248 signatures. As soon as those signatures are validated, we will be collecting the rest of the 10,198 that we need to get on the ballot.
Additionally, Cindy for Congress surpassed the 200,000.00 mark in donations today. We have had a total of 2397 individual donations which is 83.77 average per donation!
Note that Sheehan's signature drive has accelerated drastically this week. She needs less than four thousand now. Her fundraising has also picked up since the Senate FISA vote.
I'm in Texas - so the update on the sigs and $$$ is from her campaign's daily myspace bulletins.
If you have friends or family in the 8th District - essentially San Fran -- the petition is up on Sheehan's website. It can printed at home and mailed into the campaign.
If you have no connections there, but are pissed at Pelosi - Sheehan's web site says this:
"Besides all of the amazing volunteers we have on the streets collecting signatures, we also have paid signature gathers helping us out. This costs us $1 for every signature they collect, worth every penny – but an extra expense."
So a ten dollar donation gets ten signatures and helps tell Pelsosi to pack sand.
