Both houses of Congress are like a badly neglected garden, overrun with weeds. We need to pull the weeds, keep the vegetables (they're good for you!) and add to the crop.

It takes a lot of hard work (I just started a backyard garden, so I know first-hand), but the results can be gratifying.

We need to recruit more weed pullers and find some good seeds!

I've been doing some reading about depleted uranium munitions, cancer, and birth defects over the years and it seems parts of Iraq will be slow radioactive killing grounds for thousands of years due to our military's use of DU rounds.

I find your speculations about Obama's and Clinton's FISA votes intriguing. Those divergent votes, more than anything, convince me that Clinton is very unlikely to be Obama's VP choice. In fact, I would go so far as to say that they indicate that either she is certain that she won't be or that she doesn't really want the job.

What Clinton's vote would do is give her more flexibility on any such issues in the future. She doesn't owe Pelosi. The vote may signal that, should she get the opportunity, she may exact payback.

Of course, my speculations are just that and it is not possible (at this time) to know anything for sure.
