The motivation for blocking investigations into Bush lawbreaking

Key congressional Democrats were aware and tacitly supportive of Bush's illegal interrogation and surveillance programs, a key motive in why they helped prevent accountability.

9/11 changed everything

Jane Harman uses the same argument we always hear about when it comes to infringement of our rights and the fight against terrorists. Unless I'm mistaken though (and it wouldn't be the first time!) this law breaking wasn't done as a result of 9/11, this was started well before 9/11 ever happened. If that is the case, these people need to be called out every time they bring it up so the argument can be steered away from the simple minded "9/11 changed everything" mentality and back to where it belongs, the systematic shredding of the constitution by BushCo.

Accountalbity

Let's face it up until 2006 election republicns contolled the Congress. Democrats only became a slim majority in January 2007. Bush has 6 months to go in office. The congress goes on vacation August and you want to impeach Bush and blame Democrats for not holding him accountable. Get a grip.

Yes most Democrats think Cheney and Bush will go down, as they should, as the worst leaders in the history of this country. The majority do not wants to get embroiled in impeachments at this late date or in trials in 2009 in regard to Bush/Cheney illegal interrogations. Voters want some progress made in Congress not divisive politics.

The best thing that can happen is Obama will be elected. He will put forth a good AG nomination who respects the Constitution. Reform the intelligience community. Get rid of Homeland security and the TSA. Condemn and ban any future torture. Close Guatanimo.

However the CIA has always been out of control. This is a BIG task for both Congress and the next president.

Make Pelosi Sweat

GG has posted more than enough information about Speaker Pelosi's complicity in Bu$h's crimes.

She must go.

Cindy Sheehan is the only person with a chance to make an impact this election cycle.

As I posted in yesterday's GG comment thread, Sheehan needs 10,198 total signatures from registered voters in California's District Eight to get on the ballot. When I commented yesterday, she had 5657 to go. The deadline is 8 August.

(The Money parties make it very hard for independents and third party candidates to get on the ballot. Part of keeping their lock on power.)

In the past 36 hours Sheehan has gained 1000 signatures.

Strike a blow against Pelosi and get your friends and family in California's District 8 (San Fran) to sign. By signing, they aren't pledging to vote for Sheehan in November - just getting her on the ballot.

Bad Dems need to learn they aren't invulnerable.

No friends in District 8? Perhaps you can spare $19.84 for a candidate who is against retroactive immunity and for impeachments, investigations and trials?

20 years from now will teams of specially trained Iraqi commandos be slipping into the US to take war criminals like Pelosi and Harman before International Tribunals? Would "they" eventually come for the military officers, enlisted folk and CIA employees who actively participated in torture and illegal detentions? Is responsibility for the deaths of a million Iraqis and the maiming of millions more not a sort of Holocaust?

I've been doing some reading about depleted uranium munitions, cancer, and birth defects over the years and it seems parts of Iraq will be slow radioactive killing grounds for thousands of years due to our military's use of DU rounds. I speculate because just this week I read about the ongoing search for Nazis in South America.

Bring this Country Cack to its Charter

The crux, the fulcrum, the great deception upon which all the travesties of the Bush administration are based is that event that is so taboo to discuss that its consideration is demagoged as a traitorous act and mental illness. On 9/11 airplanes struck the two world trade center towers but pre-planted explosive demolition charges brought the three buildings down at freefall speeds leaving pools of molten metal weeks after the event. The '9/11 Mysteries' video is a good introduction to this obvious reality It is only with widespread acknowledgment of this distressing fact and the election of likeminded politician that this country can be brought back to its charter.

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!”

Dump Pelosi

http://www.cindyforcongress.org/

Put yer money where yer mouth is...I am. Let's dump Pelosi and replace her with Cindy. What an absolutely wonderful message it would send to defeat the traitorous Speaker of the House.

Washington is lawless

and robbing us blind, the southern flank is wide open, our military is bankrupting us fighting illegal wars so the trillionaires can get richer, lawyers are running around stealing our rights, but you can just BET, every goddamn month or so, I am stopped by cops for either having my headlamp out, or my registration sticker expired, or not stopping completely at the red light.

FUCK THIS STUPID COUNTRY.

I was on this bead seven years ago, when you pissant dumocrats were laughing at people like me, telling us all how your party was going to be the fucking saviour.

Now reap your bullshit, assholes.
