Democrats' strategy: Strength through bowing

Yet again, Democrats, in their never-ending quest to avoid looking "weak," engage in the precise behavior that guarantees that perception

Denigrating cats everywhere...

We have two cats in our house. As soon as we come near them, they flop to the floor and roll over onto their backs. We've taken to calling them Pelosi and Reid.

A shame you don't have pet rats. I think that would be more appropriate..... ;-}

Jebbie

just keep in mind that it is not possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Good point.

Been there, done that? ;-}

You're absolutely right...

I AM going to vote for Obama in the general election. That's because I will DROP A CONCRETE BLOCK ON MY OWN FOOT before I ever vote for a Republican for anything.

Besides that - I will never give another dime to his campaign or to the Democratic Party. I just contributed to the EFF to continue this fight and I'm forwarding the letter to Obama and the DNC to let them know that this is a contribution that they didn't get.

I will support ActBlue and I will work to put everyone who supported this corrupt and craven bill out of business.

DO WE ENCOURAGE A FLOOR FIGHT, OR DO WE VOTE GREEN?

Hillary voted against cloture and against the bill. Do we try and get her to be the Demo's nominee, or do we simply abandon the Democratic party and vote Green?

All I can Think is that They've Got Something Really Bad on Obama

My estimation of the man has fallen so much in the last two weeks. It is almost as if, when he went to the Bilderberg conference between June 5th and 9th, someone played some tapes that they had gotten on him (fruits of the telecom felonies of Darth and Smirky) and told him and much of congress from now on what to do and say.

Death penalty = good, rethink on Iran = good, FISA = good, etc., etc. What's next? Habeas corpus = bad, Iran = bad, Betrayus = good? Nothing else makes sense. There is no other rational explanation that I can think of. I’m cringing and waiting for the next shoe (shoes?) to fall.

All I can think is they have gotten something on him so bad that he has no choice but to fold. It isn’t just Jesse Jackson who is talking about cutting off his nuts, it is Big Brother actually doing it. Or did he just decide on his own to do all of this?

Good is Bad, Down is Up, Big Brother is Your Friend.

Sigh, I'm losing faith in, "You can fool all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time".

Hey Chester!

Where's my BMW? I need to put an OBAMA sticker on it RIGHT NOW!

The apparent irrelevancy of public opinion to Dems

I can no longer believe that the Democrats running Congress feel stronger when they bow.

I no longer believe that they are bowing in any real sense.

I believe they are getting exactly what they want.

Strength through silence

Most shocking yesterday was not how Obama voted, we already knew how that was going to go. The unbelievable deftness came when..... wait for it... keep waiting....

Well, I'm still waiting, because he didn't utter a word on the Senate floor. Not a minute of time was asked for to stand up for his position. This from a man who said previously about the issue:

And the message I want to send to everybody is: You're not going to agree with me on 100% of what I think. But don't assume that if I don't agree with you on something, that it must be because I'm doing that politically. I may just disagree with you.

So we disagree, but it's not political? What values was he standing up for yesterday with that vote? I must have missed his moment in front of the mic where he explained it. Am I cynical and reaching by pointing out that he cleverly avoided the C-span cameras as well?

best to use a good silicone spatula when flippin' turds

And while right-wingers out there may say, "P'shaw! What do I care about animal rights freaks and the blame-America-firsters?" I say: Remember Waco. Remember Ruby Ridge. Remember them because the government doesn't have to rely on trumped-up child abuse or gun charges to get you anymore. -- djmagaro

Most rightwingers who still care about this "rugged individualist" quasi-libertarian stuff are voting for Ron Paul. The Republicans stopped pandering to this splinter demographic years ago. Most of the few remaining rank-and-file Republicans whom it might trouble.... they get their news from FOX and talk radio. It will be "explained" to them that this win against the Democrats is all a good thing.

Tools take time and effort to make, and they cost money. But if you want to handle politicians, it's probably better if you acquire some.

Bush may be the screaming, stupid, spoiled brat who throws a temper tantrum for every conceivable unreasonable demand every five minutes. The Democrats may be the frail spineless grandparents that succumb to his every wish. History is not going to remember either of them as strong. Insanely stupid, yes, but not strong.

My suspicion is....(bribes and perks) a perception.

Maybe this has been already discussed. My suspicion mounts. I bet the NSA has files on all the Democratic is "weak" and their behavior is thus, because:

The closets: dirty needle-nose-pliers, shots, cheap wines.

beer bottles with politicians inside a bottle, so-to-speak,

hidden whores, alter boys, mistresses dirty sheets, saws,

and the baby bottle is so safe-proof? An A.G. sees mops.

filthy mops. evidence. vile. bile. see the folders. creeps.

I mean: The DoJ has to use a hack-saw to pry the top lid.

I mean: A GOP crew thought a child-proof job was safe.

The DEMS too had not the foggiest? O ask Dick Cheney?

Glenn. If this was mentioned, apologies: Use a chain saw.

What bunches of twits, wimps, and outdated cans. Can 'um.

I mean: They don't exactly eat old cans of cream spinach.

Let them go bowling? Take: McCain, Hillery, Peep-toms.

'Um are babies bawling.

In the closet are dirty rubbers.

galoshes, KEEP UP THE HALATION.

We American people (world) needs light.

You people who care do a `dime good job. IMHO. Not B.O.
