David Davis, the Tory politician in Britain, won back his seat in a landslide today, after fighting their version of Big Brother laws. That's the message that COngress and the Senate need to hear, that and working against hte people will cost them. You're doing good work Glenn. You're right, this can be just the beginning of something big.
She's hiding behind her husband's. Women who routinely say, My husband says ... get absolutely no respect from me, because it's clear they have no respect for themselves. bernbart is the one advancing an opinion, either she's got the creds (self-taught or otherwise earned) to back it up, or she doesn't.
I almost didn't post my comment for the reasons you so well state, but here's the thing: If I were married to an eminent oncologist and someone I was in an online argument with was touting the virtues of homeopathy to cure cancer, I think I might tell this person that my spouse and his colleagues treat people who survive cancer -- and who do not -- every day. And he's never seen homeopathy do the trick.
Let's say, however, I claimed my eminent oncologist spouse claimed laetrile was teh awesome for curing cancer -- at that point I'd expect to see other physicians come down on me hard. And that should be true even if my wunnerful MD spouse graduated from Johns Hopkins, and one of my detractors from the Acme School of Plumbing and Medicine. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter a damn what school the expert graduated from -- what does matter is the rational, reasoned, supported basis for their view.
But -- if Bernbart wants to play credentialism by proxy -- Glenn ain't the one to do that with.
All you have to do is go to your search engine type in "Senate FISA bill": go to the go to the Senate.gov site. This way you get the actual bill without all the hyperbole. This has both Senate and House version of the amended FISA law. You will see that not all that has been saud is here is true.
Having spent 40 years with one,
Don't forget, RMP, she's spent 40 years with you, too.
But you don't offer anything. You have nothing. Counter an argument. Provide evidence. Do something.
FISA Amendments Act of 2008 (Enrolled as Agreed to or Passed by Both House and Senate)
HR 6304. Passed unchanged in the Senate.

But you don't offer anything.
karrsic (happens to me, too), that was most ungenerous! Didn't you just hear RMP say Laughter is the best medicine? And you say she offers nothing? She's given me, and I daresay many others, quite a lot.
Any time you wanna hear that "Black Snake Moan" bernbart, you just call me. It's on an old "Folkways" recording, but it still goes through you like a bolt of corn likker. And the 12 string is unbelievable!
You don't need to be a lawyer -- many non-lawyers can do this -- but you do have to have some experience with statutory construction, which is akin to reading medical journals for some laypeople. The language passed yesterday changes some of the prohibitions in the old FISA.
I need to go to bed and cannot write a legal treatise for you at the moment on this point. But do listen to the podcast.
Have you heard of imeem? www.imeem.com
Great way to share music. Upload some pickin' and invite me! :)
I hide behind no man. I am my own person, and I have a mind of my own. I also don't alway agree my husbands' opinion either. I however am not an attorney and some legalize is understandable to only attorneys. Of course, I suspect you also are not attorneys so you depend on Glenn and hide behind his every word.
My husband and I had a long discussion over several days about the FISA bill. I also read the bill and have not seem some of the text quoted here. All laws are scrutinized and have differing interpretations. That is why we have judges.
Derb... Every danged Repug from Nixon to Newt to YKW has understood this, all too well. It's a creepy variant of the old lawyers' maxim; if the facts are against you, argue the law, and all that.
But this bunch knew that facts, law, and common sense were all resolutely lined up against them, so, Presto, change the words. Lie blatantly; "the truth must be somewhere in between," and use words so inflammatory and demeaning when speaking of your opponents, that, darn it, what they're saying can't be right, even if it kinda sounds like it.
I'll be up in your neck of the woods this weekend, Seattle, and I'll be listening for loud motorcycles with a fresh ear.

where did I hide behind Glenn's words? Please show me any lawyers' argument that specifically counters arguments made by Glenn, ACLU, or the EFF. Please show me a judge's ruling that contradicts Walker's.
Can you substantiate anything?
Why do you argue a viewpoint if you cannot offer a single meaningful argument or substantiation? What specificallyholds you to your viewpoint?
What specifically could you not find? And does not finding it prove it doesn't exist?
BTW, IANAL.
Whispers (first page @ 4:42) suggest a web-cam in the shower can be installed so that Americans can watch a elephant wash? It be more fun to watch Dick Cheney and a water buffalo in a mud puddle wallowing? I don't know? What's in a nature? Does a elephant beast have a distinct gene package from a Derbig (barnbart) Mooser who needs to have attended a law schools? We people can't all be hen layers, etc., Diversity. Humans think differently. Ya's ain't gotta self-loathe the Self so greatly that ya's yell, maim, and kill one another. A horned Yak can live in high altitudes, and distinctly it is not a elephant, a bison or a antlered moose. Derbig is who he is... and elephant man is not a horsey, a black and white zebra, a wolf, or a red or grey fox, either. But gads. To Wake Up and spitefully keep loathing others sound very disgusting to me. I'm really getting into depravity?
Words in the lexicon are persistently misused.
The buffalo is better known as wisent. (buffalo)
They are different animals. They were hunted.
Many cultures depended on beast for survival.
No attempts at domesticating certain critters.
The nasty Tasmania devil served a purpose?
It's so surprising and historically interesting.
Cattle. Humans sway hips and cha-cha? moo.
A water buffalo cow is a cattle and gives milk to nation's populations. A water buffalo gives 3X's more milk as a milk cow. The milk is 50% richer and makes great butter. I even have a Yak box. It's a oval shape wood box that was used to carry butter. I picked it up as a souvenir after a earth quake. The humanitarian 'gig' was instructive and meeting people different should not be threatening. (I know this is a one more rant-vent-rabble) The milk is pale greenish and white in color. Where is the Yak's good name am I going with this "absurd" comment? I don't know fer surly, myselk. I's just so odd, IMHO, that some human critters live ti hate, demean, and ignore the other thinker. Why? I like what Persian Hafiz said: ` How do I Listen? response:
`Like the other is sharing their last precious words of life before they drop dead. okay. What next? huh.
A Yak will contribute wool. Food. Plows. A water buffalo will plow rice fields for a communal village. Some runaway beast just demean and smash everything. It's a uncivil nature. P.S. skip this. I ain't no lawyer. A elephant is a symbol? A pen name. It's a ugly rancid foul butter, a churned gonorrhea, a social disease, a beast prick butter? A Republican endorses elephant man?
It's a risky, and out loud ranting, on my part. ... "off-topic"
Derbig can fend for self and protect. Timberman is gone.
Derbig Mooser irked poor William Timberman? me FAR lefty?
The "FAR lefty"... gads. Why am I in such a ramble man mood? su! okay. i's lunins heres. Thanks.
