Aug. 8, 1974 vs. July 9, 2008

Almost 35 years ago, a U.S. president was forced to resign due to lawbreaking and surveillance abuses. This week, the U.S. Congress will act to cover up and protect far worse lawbreaking.

    Scientician

I support Glenn and his efforts both financially and spiritually and I am well aware of the major and numerous differences between the two major parties.

However, the differences on the most important issues - foreign policy, the Constitution (see: telecom immunity, patriot act, congressional oversight), withdrawal from Iraq, corporate corruption, corporate welfare, monetary policy (i.e. The Fed), etc. The two parties are very closely alligned.

The Dem Party as your grandparents knew it is finished. It is beyond repairable. The leaders of the party today - the Hoyers, Pelosi, the hapless Whip from SC, the Bob Shrumites and the money men i.e. the Bob Rubins - need to be kicked to the curb as of yesterday.

That's not going to happen. Until it does, things are going to get worse for the country and the party.

If I vote, I will probably vote for Obama. But it's July, and as of now, I would say Obama is the least impresssive Dem Presidential candidate since Monday.

He gives good speech, but that'll wear thin once the GOP narrative starts to kick-in after Labor Day.

But Obama hasn't earned anything from me as of yet. Like I said, it's only July and he shouldn't be ordained by the masses until he actually promises them something besides a few table scraps about hope and change.
