Worst of all, there is no Left.
There's barely any traditional Republicans.
We have, mostly, liars, scoundrels, racists, kewpie dolls, hatracks, leeches, crooks, cowards, copycats, morons, henchmen, evil sophists, and some mixed up remnants of ineffectual, well meaning, leaderless, or demon conscripted politicians.
And Feingold, Dodd, Boxer, (i can't characterize everyone,) Waxman, and more isolated consciences of activism scatterred around the government.
But we don't have control over tyranny anymore.
From President, Vice President, Attorney General, Media and their coopts, Print collaborators.
We are frozen dead in ignorant atrophy.
Only here, in the new underground, is inquiry, answer, debate, development, method, care, and analysis daily accessible.
Yeah, books and articles occasionally crystallize the suppressed reality. But you can't write to the readers easily.
Obama now seems like a podoid replicant programmed in horror movie subserviance.
Just erase everything he ever said from memory and cringe til November.
You pray he means less of what he does now than what he said then.
But who could possibly count on any constancy from him ever again?
I think he IS trying to Reaganize himself into office.
What an ugly ploy.
Glenn, this cycle led me back into the fray, and i revere your work.
I read your every effort.
Obama is a hollow of expedient betrayal.
At least we didn't lose Keith Olbermann. A useful portal.
I hate Harry Reid or any creep playing me to offer a post passed FISA amendment sham.
Put the language in the bill so it passes right or dies well.
Pelosi, (it's not personal, poor soul,) goes.
Hoyer: never again recognized to speak til he's unelected. Rockefeller: gently cultivate awareness.
So, we advance past our candidate and keep what truth finds worth.
Paradoxical to be our own leaders now; no alternative.
I have no expertise but sense.
I never considered myself a hippie.
I was 14 when i 1st marched on Washington. Amongst the old Left, and Quakers, 'peaceniks.'
I never protested against any soldier. Some Military is much more attuned now, and courageously helpful.
Jim Webb was right on vs politicizing the troops.
McCain's clan is all lies all the time now. They're cranked up in ignorable unison to echo phantom ping pong tolls of petty pity prattle. Tuneless, toneless. Talking to themselves via prop microphones. Lieberman and Gramm.
An albatross and a pariah.
If they don't drown the crash dummy, meet me in Van Couver...
As shallow as Wes Clark is, his punch was legal. And should have been thrown 8 years ago.
McCain has contradicted himself alone 9 thousand times in 1 year.
I guess Barak got jealous.
If we go down a couple more rungs, Bill Clinton might back road the Haverick into voter void.
Hillary will hold constituency well.
This Sam Nunn, Colin Powell, Chuck Hagel drivel, can we get credit for returning it to the poison gift shop?
If Health Care was a service instead of a skim bloat, could it treat us all competently?
If the faith based includes dentists and oral hygienists, would they tithe professional mouth care to the poor?
Will Obama recreate the WPA for alternative energy startups and infrastructure restoration?
If he took all the blood money out of the Middle East and airlifted family sized food rations to regularly parachute down to the starving, within UN protective perimeters, could the United States find its global soul again?
Could people be given their homes back if they reside in them?
Could we defund lopsided subsidy programs in favor of market fluidity?
RICOize Haliburton, KBR and Blackwater?
Yes, We Can!
And trade overlook back for oversight.
FYI, 'rants' ago were 'riffs.'
And, no offense, our music?
Come back sometime, we'll talk about it if you get some..
I haven't worn mine for a while.
As another comment pointed out, the initial and subsequent repudiations of Reverend Wright by the BarackStar were telling. Obama threw his fire and brimstone pastor under the bus very quickly, and in a very public way. I agree with Jeremiah Wright far more than I disagree with him, and I respect his bluntness. Such a pusillanimous reaction by the nominee-to-be was unwarranted. Let the manufactured scandal of J. Wright's sermons cause many Fox News bloviators to lose their lunch. Billo, Hannity and many of their cronies could stand to drop a few pounds.
Many of us liberals/progressives have been (and a significant number still are) supporting a POLITICIAN. The number of DC politicians who actually have convictions and actually adhere to these convictions total between four and ten, in my humble opinion: Kucinich, Ron Paul, Feingold, Dodd, Darcy Burner, Donna Edwards and Gravel. Maybe a few others.
Is Obama a better candidate than McSame? Definitely. Is he more intelligent than any of the high profile Republicans? Yes. Is he the Second Coming? Uh, no.
Glenn's right to stay on the nominee's case. GG's doggedness helps keep us informed. And keeps me from donning those glasses.
John Dean has his cheap two cents worth out now - I can't believe Dean is carrying water for Olbermann.

For Bush to issue a blanket pardon in this situation would be unprecedented
Bush will pardon the telecoms without batting an eye, after all Bush is the king of unprecendented and all he has to say is I do it for Terror, Terror, Stop, crap, whatever.
I can't believe John Dean wrote this rubbish - it's like Olbermann and Dean conspired to help Obama do nothing via pretending we'll get a nowhere investigation exactly like the ones Bush always has - the investigations that find nothing.
And this: If it were issued by Bush, however, a blanket pardon to his “national security” miscreants would require acceptance by them of the fact that they had broken the law, and thus an admission of guilt. Were Bush to issue such a remarkable pardon, it would, of course, cement his historical stature as several notches below even that of Richard Nixon
Jeebus - didn't John Dean write the Book, "Worse Than Watergate" so it is established, by John Dean himself, that Bush IS ALREADY WORSE THAN NIXION however Bush isn't getting impeached - so pardoning is going to be no problemo for our torturing, wiretapping Prez.
Obama: I often get questions about impeachment at town hall meetings and I've said that is not something I think would be fruitful to pursue because I think that impeachment is something that should be reserved for exceptional circumstances.
Obama knows full well that Bush has had one exceptional circumstances right after another, so this really is everything John Dean ever needed to know in a nutshell - Obama will do NOTHING and JOHN DEAN knows that Obama will do nothing when he votes for this FISA Bill, as does Olbermann. I can hardly believe John Dean wrote this crappy article, because it is the most dishonest, absurd, speculative bunk ever put out by the likes of Dean.
Now I have to wonder that since McCain didn't show up to vote against the GI Bill perhaps Obama will not even show up to give his glory speech on the horrors of telecom immunity before caving in and voting for the FISA Bill anyway. I doesn't really matter, I'll be very physical ill either way.
And on the subject of Wes Clark - how come nobody ever mentions how may votes John McCain has missed - I believe that McCain has the highest record for missing votes and missing time over any other US Senator, does he? But on the other hand, we may have to send out an Amber Alert of find Obama on that fateful day.
