Where I differ from Berry is on... Parking Fees For Tow Away Vehicles in DC..

Roman Berry @ 2:52.

One day after a Farmers Market in DC, my daughter was with me, and helping, and making a few dollars, honestly.

She wanted to stop in Georgetown.

Her high school friend was there too.

She was at the age `Dad, shave your whiskers.

She wished ti discuss tights, socks, and window shop.

(I READ your back-page, first letter about towing cars)

I never saw a sign. I get lost in DC. I meet great strangers.

Then: I hop back in the farm truck. Guess what? I get lost agin'.

What I love is what I learn when lost. Some DC folk look at me like Crazy?

You lost? No, I am lost! Why don't some DC folk talk to lost farmers in DC?

I guess my aging daughter was correct? I stink! Dad you is appearing as boogie dancer?

~

Before I forget. The DC TOW JOB FEE? $250. And then it was the 4th of July weekend. WHAT!

TOW CAR LOT IS CLOSED ON HOLIDAYS. (sthu) Mr. Berry, it was not your fault though. Gads, but, get this: While my first farmer son was being born at Bethesda Naval Hospital... I got a no park ticket. The sign read; NO Park at the curb after 4:00 pm, but I forgot. My wife was in labor. I should never read back letter? Time for a sip... yes. I will get. Me Go stop yonder, and go-left, or right at the shining yellow orange light. Slam on the breaks for toads, ants, turtles, trees, and no eat too many peas. carrots, and chopped cabbage with sour vinegar. O, watch a moon, and ask a loon for more and more money. Cash doe so to splurge on a Abbey ale, Leffe bier. now. No. O No hit a doe with two spotted bambies. lame berries.

Glenn

Anyone who thinks the Wes Clark matter was well-handled by Obama -- embracing the media/right-wing distortions of Clark's comments rather than rejecting them -- should watch and read this.

Obama screwed the pooch...big time. He fed Wes Clark to the sharks and then poured blood in the water.

@rebecalouise

Right on.

Glenn dismisses the "circular firing squad" and say it's not germane here, but he's wrong. This little hissy-fit squad who thinks all of America is going to go along with the agenda of the 15-20% of the Democratic party are smoking crack. This is exactly what the CFS looks and sounds like.

Yeah, it's emotionally satisfying, and everyone gets to point out how pure and holy and smart they are. And then go back to licking their wounds, criticizing the party, wondering why Democrats can't win the WH, and saying that next time they'll vote for Kucinich. or Ron Paul. Or Ralph Nader, or some other doofus who doesn't stand a cat's chance in hell of ever being elected president. But they'll feel good about their futile meaningless votes because boy they sure showed someone something.

Face it, the vast majority of your fellow citizens are incapable of holding up their end of democracy. And Obama isn't interested in these petty name-calling squabbles over what is obviously very divided territory in this country.

Progress is evolution much more so than revolution. Right now, we need to get back in, govern, show America that the "Left" is not about marxist appeasers, and then move forward. This is what Obama is trying to do, and he's not beholden to anyone. He actually has guts, as what he's doing and saying shows. You can be part of the solution or part of the problem.

@kohoutek

Instead, Glenn fails to see that Obama is trying to move past partisan divisiveness, get into office, and then govern.

Those civil liberties and their pesky partisan divisiveness. I like the inclusion of "then", like all of his posturing is merely a precondition, a game he is playing in order to implement his Master Plan later, "IF Obama acts like a clown, THEN he gets to save the world". I also like how you fail to mention that this "partisan divisiveness" is itself divisive among his supporters, as Digby mentioned and Kerry and Dean Lamented about. If it weren't, wouldn't everyone be chanting "Yes we can" instead of wondering WTF his motives are?

If anyone hasn't noticed, Obama's doing just fine in the polls.

Obama obviously hasn't. If he has, then why is he behaving the way he is? Is he not doing good enough? Does he want a 20 point lead instead of a 10 point lead?

If he followed all the left-wing blogobloviating advice he'd be trailing right about now.

Prove it. I think you will have a hard time proving it when the opposite has happened and is currently happening.

It's a pretty simple concept, really. Get this, people don't like being illegally spied on by their Government, and they also don't like when the corporations that enabled the Government to become illegal information sucking vacuums receive Get Out of Jail Free Cards for their efforts. But there I go being divisive, because the above illegality is merely emo partisan bloviating.

Lil' Bro

"Perhaps I am the exception that tests the rule."

No, you're a Glennhead. You like orthodoxy in your comments section. Ends justify means and all.

L. Michelle

I just thought what you said was funny because I can see the old True Believers on the right seriously believing something like I described.

Tuesday, July 1, 2008 03:31 PM

What a fine kettle of fish!

Oh great! The Democratic party is now held hostage to a shapeshifter! This is just wonderful. What makes you think Glen that it will not continue. Who knows what his Supreme Court picks will be like? How can anyone have any confidence in this guy? I never did but that's just me.

re: update V (or: argh!)

Crikey, thanks a lot Glenn. I was already pissed about the lunatic dislocation of mind that the conservative movement is engaging in at the moment

http://dailydoubt.blogspot.com/2008/06/lunatic-dislocation-of-mind.html

but that video is unbearable. I love hearing the fake outrage over the "swift-boating" of McCain. When some liberal pundit goes on tv and says McCain staged his POW status or self-inflicted his wounds like Malkin did with Kerry maybe then we can talk.

I had already noticed last night that when Colmes tried to explain to the Republican hack guest that Clark's comments were being overblown by "conservatives" the guest cited Obama's criticism as legitimizing the complaints.

So Obama went out and denounced Clark, thereby legitimizing a tactic and the unprincipled phony outrage that surely is going to be used against Obama in the future. In other words, from now until the end of the campaign if anyone questions McCain being an authority on foreign policy simply by fact of having military experience then the noise machine can claim the phony moral highground that has been validated by the candidate who will suffer for it.

Sociologists need to be studying Democrats to try and understand what it is that gives them what seems to be a pathological need to constantly capitulate to Republicans.
