We know that McCain is insane and will use the American war machine to kill, rape, murder, and destroy all around the globe. We know that he will back any play the crazies in Israel pull. We know that he will try to spend (using inflation) the nation into total ruin. We know that he is the bane of all poor working class men and women.

So vote for Obama? It is not that easy. Perhaps the only way the planet earth will ever see peace and progress is if the dominate evil empire is destroyed. Who better than McCain to destroy the empire? The down side is that he may take most of the planet with him. That is worth consideration.

So, what to do? As always, look to seek enlightenment inside yourself as our time in this incarnation is limited. Then do not vote, it only encourages the evil bastards.

Don't know about the others on your list, but DiFi of California has been known to actually encounter dissenting constituents, engage with them relatively politely, and from time to time has actually been persuaded to modify her position on this or that issue. At other times, she can't be budged.

Her San Francisco office is at 1 Post St Ste 2450 (415) 393-0707, not that she will necessarily be there, but worth a call or a visit to find out.

Her Pacific Heights mansion has also been the scene of peaceful protest.

Nancy Pelosi also has a Pacific Heights mansion, and she is well-known in San Franciso for her complete contempt for people who protest or disagree with her in public.

In fact, the contrast between DiFi's attitude toward people who disagree with her and Nancy Pelosi's attitude could not be more stark.

(And yes, those who have known DiFi since she was on the SF Board of Supervisors can testify that when she gets it in her mind to take Path A, she can often not be moved a whit, no matter what. On the other hand, you never know...)

It put your past weeks of critical commentary into context. I don't want to see people jump ship because they find out Obama doesn't walk on water. But, he has been straying too far and it is up to us to keep him honest. And while Olbermann's critique was not perfect, I was very glad to see his commentary last night; I believe we have you, in large part, to thank for that.

To those who haven't signed the petition on Obama's website of his supporters who are demanding that he say NO to FISA in it's entirety, I urge you to do so. I don't have link handy. Google mybarackobama and FISA petition. And calling his office every day doesn't hurt.

As always GC, you get to the heart of the impact on human lives when truth doesn’t matter. Truth has to be our beacon if we have any hope of starting to climb out of our country’s deep hole. Truth is what Glenn uses so wisely and well to fortify those who are willing to see through the political BS and Kabuki dramas like the one the Blue Dogs have tried to pull off on FISA 6304.

Truth can only be determined by constant research for knowledge and sound reason and an open mind that wants to know it even though it may hurt. Obama has said many times that he favors much greater transparency in government and has shown he believes that through legislation he has sponsored. Transparancy feeds truth seeking.

Truth can be more easily found, if emotions can be quieted when they interfere with objectivity. Judging Obama’s true character and how he would perform as president is, and should be, a very difficult task. That is not true about McSame. To me, I have seen more than enough to believe I know the truth about McShame, and those supporting him, sufficiently to do whatever I can to keep him from being our next president.

As Obama just said in his patriotism speech yesterday, dissent is the most patriotic way to act as a citizen. Barack needs to receive dissent from as many people as possible, supporters and non-supporters, when his words or actions are not aiding the search for truth or when his stance on an issue will compromise our chance to change the systems causing so much damage to our country.

I find Glenn’s blog one of many that only seek the truth and will refuse to speak less loudly because people disagree. For those who are not that familiar with Glenn, despite his very busy life, he does not hesitate to respond when a commenter’s facts or logic is wrong in his view. That really helps those of us who are not blindly supporting an ideology and believe in the power of truth.
