You're telling all my secrets again. ;-} The fireflies are safe and great fun was had by all.
What I really wanted were the little paper umbrellas, but they didn't have any. :-)
Did Obama actually say he'd prosecute the telecomms retroactively? Or is that just how Olbermann, et al. are interpreting the reversal of his position on FISA? It'll be interesting to hear how he (Olbermann) spins this tonight. Both he and Obama right now remind me of one of the oldest adages in the language, and it's never been truer than it is now: Talk's cheap.
My advice to you etc., is to enjoy the white ice cream cones, and don't worry about the why or whiter.
Enjoy the ice cream while it's on your plate. Now. I feel like heating up some vanilla mashed potatoes.
(apologies to T. Wilder)
Moving to the right (let's call it what it really is) is the wrong policy on the merits and wrong policy strategically. It helps make the Republican narrative of Obama, especially when Obama changes positions to do so.
Wesley Clark "attacks John McCain's war record" is the blurb right now on the bottom of the screen on MSNBC.
You can go to Crooks and Liars and view the clip from Face the Nation yesterday. Here's how Nicole Belle characterizes Clark's appearence:
"Wesley Clark just destroys the media narrative that being a prisoner of war is somehow the “experience” necessary to be Commander in Chief, much to the dumbfounding of host Bob Schieffer."
Belle is absolutely right. Schieffer's reaction is really the most notable part of this clip. He is completely taken aback by what seems an obvious point by Clark; that getting shot down and being a P.O.W. doesn't automatically qualify someone to be President of the United States.
CNN wasted no time yesterday saying, "Wesley Clark tried to Swiftboat John McCain today.” So the McCain camp, obviously seeing the opening supplied by the MSM hysterics, just had McCain give a press conference to denounce the "attack" and play the victim, timed conviently to follow the Obama speech on patriotism. And now McCain's "base", who initiated the narrative, is using the official McCain response to continue to fuel the "controversy".

Watch the video and judge the "attack"
There are no secrets. Tell one birdie, and the world will know.
The nice waitress in DC e-mailed me requesting a $3.00 tip.
It was so mean of you, docking her a 'buck' for fake grins.
Snoops need to order peppermint gin snapshots in pubs.
The next time let's meet at IHOP? We can share rice soup.

My entire image of sysprog is blown, though I appreciate the refresher on logic.
GC: How did you know about the secret one?
If you help elect John mccain, salon
By continuously attacking barack obama, think of the supreame court. With two liberals gone from the court, the gop will shove their fascsit agenda down our throut. they used to hate "activist judges". they used to hate the courts over rulings both other houses. That was before.
just like they used to hate pc police, before everyone was silenced for being "un-american". these people are fascsit hypocrites. If mccain wins and appoints young 40 something gop cronies as judges, you won't recognize america in 3 years. Say good bye to freedom and democracy. Their only hope of a "permanant gop majority" will be to do it trhough the courts. We've seen how they run the doj, now.
Thanks salon. By helping to elect mccain you are your own worst enemy.
You will have no one to complain to or blame when you enable the gop's hostile take-over of this nation, thourhg the court system. Justice is blind? You know it's nto now. In three years america does nto exist. thansk for all your hard work selling out all we fought for, for 6 months of spying. Sell-outs.
Cabdriver is saying that if there's an attack between now and November, there is no way on earth it could possibly be due to a lapse of warrantless wiretapping starting in August. For this he offers reasons which are unassailably sound.
Quite so, which cements the reality that 9/11 was concieved, planned, and prepped before Bush came to office. That is to say, on Clinton's watch.
One midnight I was on the train toward DC to do my Laundry. The Jebbie crew was lined up along the rail tracks along muddy Potomac River.
I was unfortunate to awaken, and glance to `a right.
I am not sure but, someone in the moon-gang was?
Maybe it was sysprog who had a few red roses. no.
I also saw a surly dog with a yellow butterfly.
People know what side to butter a hot dog.
Obama is going to lose. He and his "advisers" are already hard at work making sure of that. Just prepare yourselves. The contest is already over.
THE ONLY TIME THE "MOVE TO THE CENTER" CLICHE WORKS
IS WHEN YOU DO "SQUARE OR MORRIS DANCES," FOLKS!!!!!

Thank you for your attempts at contributing to the discussion here.
I have only one question for you.
What the fuck is your problem?

Quite true. Except of course that al-Qaeda couldn't afford to try to pull it off on Clinton's watch. They had to wait until no one was paying attention to them.
PS shoots, /i/ before /e/ except after /c/.

Has anyone argued otherwise, Shooter? As a matter of fact, much, if not all, of the research behind the intelligence report entitled "bin Laden wants to strike US" was done by Clinton appointees.
It's a pity Bush ignored it.
Heh.
