The lie-to-the-public-business-as-usual-b.s. coming from Hoyer and Pelosi on their capitulation on FISA is a true obscenity.
This is the clearest threat to electoral success for the Democrats in November. However, if this is how things will "change" and Obama chooses to climb in the boat with them -- then we're just doomed to four more years of slime and stench. With Bush/Cheney, we knew what we were getting; this is the lowest form of irresponsibility and betrayal.
One thing about the Republicans. They have the discipline of a professional army. -- L.W.M.
So did the Hessians. Perhaps we should be encouraged?
I've been reading about Benjamin Thompson, a brilliant colonial American inventor and physicist who challenged some of the longstanding assumptions that led to the 19th century revolution in thermodynamics. He was also a British Loyalist and Tory spy on General Gage's staff during the revolution. He used invisible ink in his intelligence dispatches to Gage, one of which mentioned the early battles at Lexington and Concord and the movements of the "Rebel Army (if that mass of confusion may be called an Army)."
The American character is remarkably consistentt and set in its ways. Americans haven't really changed much. If this rabble can just be kept in line, it may just win again but it won't be any picnic.

The House resolution supporting a blockade of Iran (but heck, who would ever misuse that kind of "authorization"?) has 170 (!!??!!) co-sponsors. Quick Googling didn't yield a list, but I'm willing to be there's plenty of courageous Dems on board already. Yay! Thank you Jesus (AIPAC support notwithstanding) for prudent, intelligent, and perceptive leaders who show us the enlightened path of military solutions to diplomatic problems.
FISA is so complicated to me. I do read and dare ever aim to fake I know the technological jargon.
J.K.C. mentioned Hercules on the first page and off I went to to Michael de` Montague's essay: 'On the Lame'...
Overweening arrogance is so difficult to unravel. "Every medal has its obverse." There is a thought M.de`M shares about ancient times when the labor-class and mental powers surpassed Hercules by better some thinkers having wrenched assent away from Man (that is, conjecturing and rashness in judging). It's an expounding thought from Cicero.
The idea is that a man named Carneades-a vigorous one-was born. The topic is the shamelessness of supposed "scholars" and politicians etc., who are to serve in professions of sharing knowledge for society's better good. I often wonder why be so selfish. Disgrace.

It's gets into 6th century BC, and the Aesop's oral communications. He was a Greek storyteller of many collected fables about animal/moral stories for 'our' edification and future instructions. How to conduct oneself? Aesop was on sale one day and put on Sale (hint) with two other "educated" slaves. The purchaser was to treat them well, and the merchant buyer wanted to know (brag?) what the sold-slaves could do for him? To enhance the value, and be bought and sold to work for a "good" master, the idea was to boast. Brag out loud.
One answered : I can `climb up mountains, and work miracles.
Oh boy, it went on and on like that (YKW). The other could do this and do that. `O wow wee. Humph
(Write for TIME and assist to "serve people"...... It was just a bunch of grandiose blabber via arrogant people's lips/pen. When the better moral thinker, Aesop, was asked what he can do? Aesop was so disgusted he yelled:
`
`NOTHING! These others take the lot. They get their ideas in first and they know everything!
`
Publishers.
The idea is what ever happened to the school of philosophy? Literally. To love logic? Reason.
The arrogance is produced in people mind that aids irritation and emulation. Bad tinkers. Bad thinkers.
The real truth is these "stinkers" contribute NOTHING! The opinion amounts to NOTHING! The sold-out mentality has a capacity for NOTHING! The potential for contributing to a wholesome sane world is ZILCH!
NOTHING!
Aesop sure did respond with a harsh tone (apologies for paraphrase and taking liberties).
The ignorance is extreme. Mankind's human nature is immoderate, and therefore needs checks and balances to help protect, edify, build up, and labor with a capacity for moral good. To contribute toward what is moral, good, and true, and beautiful is what the GOPS and WHATEVER the political party affiliation they embrace to feel false-safe, lack. The political mindsets (liable) is to be very arrogant, overweening, shameless, and this ilk contribute, in a final constructive analysis in these troubled days, NOTHING!
`
To allow a the feeble and lame political phony to continue... there is no-stopping point until all is ruin. Good movements will grow feeble too. It so necessary to keep demanding good states-persons, and forever be astute at constant monitoring the feeble inept "leadership"... Maybe this sounds like kindergarten to more legal political science thinkers. FISA needs to be watched.
'Um bad snoops.
It's time for soup.
Last night on Olbermann, he was discussing the dem sell out over the FISA bill. He noted that this bill was so sloppily written, that they forgot to include immunity for criminal prosecutions. So while the phone companies may get civil immunity, they don't get criminal immunity. Olbermann noted that Obama has said as prez he will prosecute Bush admin members, if presented with evidence they committed crimes. Olbermann thinks Obama is going to criminally prosecute phone company heads that went along with this illegal program. While I think it's highly doubtful Obama will actually do that. He hasn't said anything to that affect, and has failed to honor his filibuster commitment so far. If there is a criminal prosecution over this, won't that expose who was eavesdropped on? I know that's a long shot, but even if civil suits are dismissed, we still might find out through a criminal prosecution. Also is there anything to stop an Obama admin from disclosing what the Bush admin did? Obama can declassify anything he wants once he becomes president. So why couldn't he declassify who the Bush admin eavesdropped on without warrants?
