What Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer and Fred Hiatt mean by "bipartisanship"

Even the GOP, the media establishment and many Democrats themselves are openly mocking the claims by Pelosi and Hoyer that they "negotiated" a "bipartisan compromise."

The letters thread is now closed.

Gravy

Blueberries go with anything except sauerkraut, and maybe that powdered gravy,

-- GoodCelery!

I kind of like some of the jarred gravies. I made a big pan of mashed potatoes last night and just had to have it with the jarred gravy.

Blueberries are great in yogurt.

A Totally Meaningless Poll

Confidence in Congress: Lowest Ever for Any U.S. Institution

Just 12% of Americans express confidence in Congress

http://www.gallup.com/poll/108142/Confidence-Congress-Lowest-Ever-Any-US-Institution.aspx

-- casual_observer

It's a national poll. I hate your Congress person and you hate mine. Poll the constituents of each individual member separately and you'll find approval ratings much higher than that, probably by an order of 4 at least. They do keep getting elected, right? Granted it is unusually low but what is not unusual is to find these national polls reflecting poorly on Congress. It is an American tradition since Twain observed that there is no native criminal class in America, except congress. It is a running joke.

We'll up our standards if you'll up yours.

@GC

Hope no one in the VA ever tried to give you this drug. See sig.

One of the veterans in the Chantix study, James Elliott, of suburban Washington, suffered a mental breakdown and near-lethal confrontation with police which he blames on Chantix. VA doctors say there is no evidence Chantix was responsible.

Elliott's incident with police occurred in February, after the VA knew of the possible risks, but before it had notified veterans.

R.M.P. I no nothing for sure. I know you are no retired.

I am always puzzled in a grocery store when I ponder: Why is hair spray and condoms in the same market isle with powdered lemon-aid. Do politico's get more frail than a terminal AIDS patient in a hospice bed?

Retired Military Patriot. Garlic is an aphrodisiac. Blueberries go with anything except sauerkraut, and maybe that powdered gravy, and a bowl of fake mashed potatoes with mustard. I hate most supermarket food victuals.

heru-ur. That was a nice # One. sanity.

On a last day tryst with death....

Scythe. sigh. sad. o so pathetic...

A death harvest can't be postponed any longer.

A frail GOP will send a hospice nurse to 'Blockbuster' video.

The bloody souls will rent just very bad and lousy comedies.

In a Tough Spot

The anti-FISA PAC will find going tough right now, because its targets have taken up positions "endorsed by both Presidential candidates", etc.

This is going to be a long battle that will not be over until the precedent set by the current FISA bill is overturned - i.e., someone is held accountable for Fourth Amendment violations.

As long as I am employed I pledge to support the PAC. If I am not employed, I will do the best I can.

You’re the champion of no quit, so I greatly appreciate your compliment.

Pelosi and Hoyer don’t know they got poop on their boots because they spend so much time wallowing in the stuff.

Would love to find a Willow Tree to sit under, we don’t have many in my parts, but got to attend a 9am political coordinating meeting for my Township Dems.

Sure would love to share some berries and fresh garlic. Not at the same time though unless you know something I don’t, which isn’t unusual.

Have a great day in nature and with your family.

pinking? no. picking berries. I fail at spelling bees. Bumble bees pollinate blueberries. I thank birds, bees, buttered pancakes with maple syrup and lovable possums.

I ask for mercy.

Next Glenn may complain that a W.T. Arkansan is bad-mouthing a southern Maryland Yankee?

Poor Hoyer.

Poor Pelosi

Poor McCain.

Worst. Insane.

Bullit Point Version

At the risk of sounding ignorant and if someone cares to do so, can someone put together quick bullit points about this entire issue? What laws the White House broke, (I get warrantless wiretapping etc. but more specific), what this comprise actually is, and where we will be left once this comprimise is passed?

I know there is alot of passion regarding this, and I must admit I am somewhat unclear.

Thank you.

Glenn G. and Mr. Nixon

As I read your work Glenn, I am reminded of the position that Richard Nixon held that an action could not be illegal if the President ordered it done. That position was considered radical back in those days and a majority of Americans opposed such totalitarian impulses.

I am afraid that the position of Mr. Nixon has now become the accepted norm for a majority of Americans. We are fighting the "great threat of Islamic terrorism" after all, and we may not survive the technological might of the desert horror. (rocket propelled camels?)

This move to an elected dictatorship has been long in coming and has many parents in both parties. You keep holding them to account Glenn, but they just do not seem to see how wrong these things you write about are.

how you suffered for your sanity

how you tried to set them free.

they're not
list'ning still
perhaps they never will.

On a Saturday morn, maybe most blog readers go to I`Hop for hot oatmeal chow?

I must get to pinking.

Hope I'm not viewed mushy.

Pelosi and Hoyer are utter flops.

If they walked hand-in-hand threw a moo-cow pasture, they will tread poop back into the Capital Hill barn-offices.

What Nature can dare dew?

O kiss the moo cow utter-teat?

Make something a`grow again.

Manure helps to grow flowers.

A rose with dew is sparkling.

P.S. If in DC, keep britches up.

No think of squatting @ a W.H.

It's real smelly @ a DC's war-party.

What a creche. It's a babe nursery.

I bet on a death day 'um in a`diapers?

I say 'um are resorting to bad a`stool days.

What an excuse? NO call them "honorable"...

Saturday, June 21, 2008 04:56 AM

killinginthnameof? How about kissinginthenameof? okay.

I do agree.

You reminded me of the PEW~poll that states all GOPS, and the similar ilk bedfellows, get to a deathbed and beg the left-behind spouse this:

They beg: Please NO marry any of their fiends.

What another day to think~for crying out loud.

What a sad shame. That's why we need to kiss.
