P.S., if y'all succeed, you'll have the nurse let us know, right?

Yep, and I'll even recommend that she lets you pinch her butt or flirt with her in some way of your choosing.
Barack Obama's statement supporting the FISA amendment suggests he is slowly moving to the center, while his Democratic colleagues demonstrate that they are INCAPABLE of delivering on their promises which got them control of Congress!
Kitt and Baldie,
Your distasteful comments really do reveal your lack of intellect. Calling someone an a##hole doesn't prove your point. In fact, you failed to prove a single point here all day. And the only militant comments on this blog today have come from the far left crowd. I've been more than civil in my comments today, but unfortunately, some on here can't handle a different perspective. Don't worry though, you all didn't scare me off with your feable personal attacks. I'll be on this site daily to debunk the liberal myths.
I understand why some feel that the Obama baby shouldn't be tossed out with the FISA/Blue Dog bathwater. I even understand that Obama, at his very worst, is likely to be a lesser evil when compared to McCain. I think I may even understand the amusement some feel at the firebrands despairing over Obama's realpolitik.
But what I don't see is anybody writing or worrying about are the consequences to the millions of innocents caught up in your "war on terror".
I don't want to sound so harsh, but in many ways, I could give a damn whether or not the American citizenry is prepared to accept institutionalized surveillance - or whether acceptance is based on sound political reasoning or not. However, I care very much about the millions of non-American lives shattered (or worse) by an illegitimate war that has been facilitated, furthered and perpetuated by American politics - whether the politics are "as usual" or not.
If you're not prepared to stand on principle for yourselves - which is surely your prerogative - I respectfully, but fervently, plead with all of you to remember that your politics, while yours alone, nevertheless have deadly consequence for many outside of the safety and security of your homeland (and political system).
Please let consideration for the lives of others guide you in your political deliberations on questions of principle and accountability. There are many who cannot wait until one party or the other consolidates political power, but who are in desperate and urgent need of more immediate relief.
Thank you for your attention.

In order to "debunk" you'll have to do some reading instead of just spouting shit without any facts. You're about as tough as cotton candy. We're so sceered of your return.
You're a gentleman and a scholar, sir.
No, I don't think that makes a good analogy. I don't think the supreme court can survive having another right-winger like McCain to nominate the next justice(s). The democrats aren't strong enough to object either. So, it's going to have to be a democrat for president to nominate them. -- lemecdutex
I agree with you, but I expect the Senate Dems will find a way to get filibustered out of any left-center judges anyway. The Rethugs sure won't say anything mamby-pamby about the president getting to choose his judges within reason. They will make membership in the Federalist Society a litmus test and the White Flag Dems will go along. I guess the judges will be more left than what McSame would nominate, but I wouldn't expect anyone getting through the Senate to be progressive.
I guess that is a bit defeatist, but the empirical evidence indicates that the Senate White Flags will cave on everything. Why would it be any different with a Dem Prez? The press will snap at any Dem Prez 24/7 and the cowards in the Senate will split in support, same as now.
Kinda depressing considering that BushCo has left poison financial pills, endless war and a bankrupt country. We have to trust a wishy-washy Prez candidate and a spineless congress to fix hard problem - you know, the kind where you have to lead people through tough times. Not a pretty picture, but I guess you fight the war with the weasels you have.
Do you not comprehend your hypocrisy? You profess to "not give a damn" whether Americans - to you, foreigners - are forced to live in a police state, then urge Americans to "give a damn" about the lives of foreigners. Do you see the hypocrisy and arrogance?
It's also somewhat disappointing that you fail to see that America becoming a police state at home and an oppressive and violent Empire abroad are two results of the same problem.
I mean to not fully grasp the issue, and then to stumble forth anyway and condescendingly offer "advice" that reveals you to be a hypocrite... yeesh. That's pretty unfortunate.
Wouldn't that be AM radio? Even Fox has a hard time keeping a straight face dishing that much vitriol.
And, the "it took them decades" meme about the rise of the reactionaries should also require a corollary about the (self-inflicted) collapse of the opposition party.
I just sent an email to Barack Obama threatening to stop supporting him if he votes in favor of the Senate bill w/immunity in place. I'm sure the email will get dumped, but what the hell -- I've given his campaign about a grand and been a big cheerleader for him, so if he's going to sell out this soon... screw that.
I also donated 250 bucks to ActBlue's anti-immunity PAC fund.
I refuse to just get mad. I am really starting to agree with others -- we need a viable third party; not just the nutjobs, but people who truly want what the conservatives *claim* they want -- limited government, civil liberties, fiscal responsibility.
Hell, I'd just be happy with a government that didn't believe it was above the law...
