Obama's change is for the benifit of his family and some blacks if he wins the GE. How is he going to change Washington ,when his babies mamma and himself are conservatives. Look at Michelle's hair style, just like Rice. Obama is using those who are blind to his lies, those who are refusing to face the truth [his supporters}, Those protecting the democratic party and those who love to be used. Voting for party instead of the good of America is one of the changes need to be done and Obama is not the one for a change, Obama is surrounded with old politician having the same policies as Bill clinton, hillary, Bush, mccain, Barrow, Carter, Jessey Jackson, etc, if his change is real he should have supported Thomas instead of Barrow. His flip flops, lies, race game are just the begining, he will do the worst once he becomes the first president, he will do any thing to cover his weakness, lies, racism, conservative life style, coruption,& ungratefulness
but IMHO, this is WAY too little too late from Greenwald.
He should have been holding Obama's feet to the fire for months on this, but like a good Oborg, he ignored the fact that as the "inevitable" and then "presumptive" nominee, Obama was the person who was in the best position to stop this thing.
And seriously... Greenwald the bundler?
The guy I used to call "big brain Glenn" is turning into just another one of the self-promoting bloggerboiz -- Aravosis with smoother edges...
Yea, everbody talks about Glenn as if he is a decent guy, but you make so many strong points that prove that Glenn isn't helping our country.
After reading your post, I can now so clearly see that we- as a nation- are in big trouble if people like Glenn participate to the best of their abilities. Paul, how do we make Glenn stop? Or...is there a way to make Glenn smarter and better (both morally and intellectually)?
Thanks so much for explaining how harmful Glenn is being to this country. I'm sure people will get mad at you for proving Glenn is useless, but I'd like to see them try to refute all those points you made. Paul, you must be so worried that people appreciate the work Glenn does. You've definately made me worried!
Do you have a blog, Paul, where you fix important things? Thanks.
Obama needs serious presures, checks, reportings, honest advice from his supporters, media. DNC, democrats, his wife, etc. He should be hold accoutable and the media should stop hiding his issues and treat him like the others. Obama's tool CHANGE makes no sense. He is surrounded and influenced by the same politicians who share Bush's and mcCain's policies, voted for the war, funds the war including Obama[but he get away with it},his vp picks, those helping in his vp picks, 20 yrs in Rev Wright's church, poor judgements, association with corrupt people, flip, flops in issues, two face between Isreal, Palestine, Iran, Hamas. His inexperience, racial game, secrets and problems that are still in his closet will not only disappoint his supporters but will destroy the hard work of others, affects America, destroy democrat & silence CHANGE .
Obama's support to Barrow is not Thomas's fault. This is an other showcase of Obama's socall FAKE CHANGE, in experience, follower, SWEET TALK, GREAT SPEECH, but NO ACTION. It is hard for some of his supporters to accept the truth. Please Glenn continue to do your posts, your findings on Obama, it will not only help America but also his supporters and himself. If Obama wins, it will surprise his supporters to know that he is very conservative, will not bring our troops as promise, will go easy on Iran, Hamas, Palestine. They will really see a different Obama. His actions are not new to those who have seen through him. Supporting Thomas should have been a perfect example of his claimed Change. I will also prove that he is pro women. A good politician will never give Obama's promises especially knowing his inexperience. In the early days of the primaries, he said experience does not matter, then later on he started defending his inexperience. Glenn please HELP USA.
Bravo Glenn!!!
I've seen no one more dogged than you in covering this FISA sham by the HPIC (Head Party In Charge)!!!
Oh, and to your question, "Has anybody seen Obama?" and your statement, "Several readers have emailed to say that they called the Obama campaign and were told that Obama and his staff are "literally reviewing the bill right now and will make a statement shortly." - not to worry, just like no flag pin, now flag pin/Rev. Wright & Trinity, no Rev. Wright & Trinity/NAFTA, no NAFTA/Hamas, No Hamas, etc., etc., etc. - the senator from Illinois and his crew will hold their collective finger up, test which way the wind is blowing and comment accordingly (remember, the goal is the first Black president, period) - I promise you. He didn't move most of the DNC OPS to Chicago for nothing! The Daleys are seasoned in this kind of two-step!
But I think you may have put his proverbial "ass in a sling" by pointing out his support of Barrow over Thomas. I'm not laying any bets, but I guarantee "Orator the Great" will come up with something that at least sounds a little more coherent than Pelosi's babble. And if he doesn't, oh well, now that he's anointed and the presidency is in the grasp, nobobdy will really hear what he is or isn't saying.
As a dismayed resident of Georgia (though not in Barrow's district--I'm stuck with Biblical scholar Lynn Westmoreland), I'll gladly add my letter-writing and campaign-calling efforts. I actually almost campaigned for Barrow in 2004, given his proximity to Athens and UGA. Although I don't remember much of the speech he gave to the Young Dems back in 2004, I do remember that the seat was rated one of the top potential Democratic pickups (though some redistricting has occurred since then).
The other thing I remember is he jokingly shushed someone--something along the lines of "shh, don't say that too loud"--for mentioning that he graduated from Harvard Law School.
I don't wish to infer too much from that one comment; though, when added to his voting record and his ad boasting about how much of a Democrat he isn't (except in the primaries and when taking money from them), it's reasonably safe to say he's preoccupied with avoiding the "elitist" label. The only aspect which is more troubling to me is the fact that he had the privilege to attend Harvard Law School, one of the most renowned institutions in the world, yet he chooses to use the power, prestige, and knowledge that only a select few are afforded to destroy the Constitution.
It isn't a stretch to say that, given his educational background, he surely understands our legal system. Clearly, then, he's bothered by a much more pressing issue. In fact, I'm supremely confident he'll both gladly change his position regarding the FISA bill *and* make an ad rebuffing any stragglers in his own party, once he realizes this: his belief in the ability of a powerful few to eviscerate the Constitution and the rule of law--solely for the benefit of others among the powerful few--makes him, unmistakably, an "elitist."
