Obama, telecoms and the Beltway system

Why is the Democratic nominee intervening in a Democratic primary to support one of the worst pro-war, Bush-enabling Blue Dogs against a highly credible, progressive challenger?

    Gee, Glenn, why so confused?

    I didn't say I was confused.

Obama is a smart guy. He is, first, a team player. Message: I am a Democrat, and support Democrats, especially incumbents.

That's nice. Then please don't come and tell me how different he is as a politician, since what you just described is what all the current politicians in Washington do.

Plus, he is getting a chit. Later, when he needs it, he will cash in the chit.

Yes - and to get his "chit," all he's doing is enabling warrantless spying on Americans and full-scale amnesty for lawbreaking telecoms. But it's nice that he has people like you to defend it.

Doesn't seem odd to me. Obama has ALWAYS supported incumbents. Remember, Obama supported Lieberman over Lamont.

I pointed that out -- and every other point you made here -- in the post.
