    Jebbie

Can you be a little more specific as to what issues were subject to compromise and why the effort failed? The referenced article leads one to believe that no negotiations took place and it seems that Carney just told Blue America to take a hike.

    Is this the case?

I can't really go into specifics because the parties to those negotiations agreed beforehand to keep the negotiations confidential. I can say that the negotiations were initiated by Carney through emissaries. But what he was willing to do was not remotely satisfactory, and what was communicated to him this week as the bare minimum he could do to avoid the ad campaign was not something he was willing to do. Thus, no deal. Ads run immediately and irrevocably.
