Letters to the Editor

This letter is associated with the following article:
The tidal wave of TV, radio, newspaper and billboard ads in Carney's district arose out of his active support for warrantless eavesdropping and telecom amnesty.
  • I support this effort 100%, as long as the ads stick to ISSUES

That's why I'm glad that there will be a group that's independent from ActBlue (which focuses on candidates).

The reason I'm so strongly in favor of these ads is that TV and newspapers are the best way to "talk" to our Congress people. Calling them helps, but it's not public enough to worry them. Blogging is great, but our leaders know that most blogs preach to the choir so they don't perceive them as a big threat.

We need TV ads, newspaper ads, and letters to the Editor in major papers. The latter is a crap shoot, because your piece likely never gets published.

So: I think this new approach is brilliant. Running the news paper ads to reinforce the TV ads is fantastic - they provide more context than the TV ad can.

Thank you for working on this! I will contribute, as long as I can choose the specific issue. FISA is one of my top peeves, so I'm delighted.
