The NY Times
Well I guess it's completely safe to say that they, the Rethugs, have completely co-opted the NYT.
Once a great newspaper it's now just so much dead road kill. It has been of ever diminishing value at least since the Bushie Boys took over the WH. Now it is just totally gone, it is of absolutely no value.
The few good writers left should leave and go to the McClatchy Newspapers.
sigh, and sigh yet again
It's so sad how the Bush Crime Family and their legion of evil destroys everything in it's path.
I wonder how long it will be before the Pope, my religion, releases Catholics to vote their own conscience instead of his way. I no longer, and have not for some time, watched EWTN(Catholic cable channel) because they will never follow the Popes lead; they have their own Pope. Maybe we'll have to watch for word from Catholics like Patricia Heaton and Kelsey Grammer who sometimes reveal such things to the tabloid press. Or one could attend Sunday Mass and listen carefully to the priest for clues as to what the Pope wants done. It's all couched in code words, removed just one bare level from the obvious. But Catholics know how to listen.
But then my fellow Catholics could just listen to Jesus who admonished us to not merge church and state when he said: 'render unto caesar...'. That is my idea of the proper and right way to go. What Jesus said is good enough for me. Somehow the Pope, a man, a human being, should not take precedence over Jesus Christ. At least for me, my first allegiance is to the laws of God and the teachings of Jesus. But then Catholics are taught just the opposite. That never made sense to me.

Hmmm...balance
Balance thats an interesting word, especially coming from a right winger, extremist. I wonder if balance is what Brian Williams(NBC) meant when he spoke about the right wingers being left out in the cold for so long. I think that was the way he phrased it.
Balance, is that as in Fair and Balanced. Which is about as far crazy right wing as one can get. But then they all work for the Bushies and the oil companies anyway so their grred and their 'Culture of Death' for profit and political expediency reveals them for what they truly are. They all deserve each other.

2:01. OT. Respect to Glenn. A vague sense.... It's nothing. It's a no comment.
I've decided to turn the scroll dial off.
That's as easy as turning the radio dial left.
Readers in search of balance search diversity.
bucky1. No fear the use of my name (Art James), okay.
Please get in a lecturing last slur? Pace in pretty thongs.

Readers who use an alarm.... when the alarm clock rings... they wake. A vague sense.... There is no grudge brewing within me. But today a inner desire to turn on the computer wasn't there. It's good to be sensitive, but not thin skinned. A skin-head teen is in search for themselves. An aging adult may not be bald, or dress in goth, but a person can be ill-equipped at functioning in a progressive role in the tough and tumble world. I felt no compulsion/desire to comment.
There was nothing to say.
Thanks. I'll just spend time at other things.... It's not a good day to roll down a hill. The grass is wet and mushy. eek. (odd. I'm ignoring a inner flow of banter. I'll ignore it. Shush. Seagulls and ducks squawk, but never squabble)

@ L.W.M
I suppose that if there is anything particularly new about what I'm suggesting, apart from just pulling various threads together that taken individually are already well known to specialists, it's something like this : we live in a hallucinated psuedo-reality, determined to a great extent by Steven Spielberg movies. Talking of which, I think that spoof "Night at the Holocaust Museum" trailer was really making fun of Spielberg, not of the Holocaust itself, but it's interesting that despite the extremely clear cineaste references, William's mind, and doubtless the minds of many other people, jumped from the image to the imputed reality, and that is how induced hallucination actually works : film supplants reality in forming moral reactions.

Art, I have never "feared" using your name or anyone else's name. I am glad you stopped using more than one handle here, but you never tried to hide who you are. Good on you for that.
Now you also wrote, "Please get in a lecturing last slur? Pace in pretty thongs." I have no idea what that means, especially the "pace in pretty thongs" part. If you want me to understand you, how about writing understandable prose?
One or two people who rarely post have asked that you hold the voluminous number of hard-to-understand posts down to a minimum. I think that is good advice, but you do as you will. I would ask that you never mention my name or refer to me again, just as lwm promised to do. That would help Glenn out more than anything. I of course, as is my habit, will try to only respond when mentioned.

Note: slur: to cast aspersions on; calumniate; disparage; depreciate: The candidate was viciously slurred by his opponent.

Those scum...
...wish they could measure up to Noam Chomsky. They live down around his ankles or lower.
Chomsky is a national treasure. He is one of my heroes; there aren't many like him, in fact it could be argued that there aren't any like him. When Chomsky speaks I listen, very attentively. He cuts through the crap, instantly.
I'm glad our side(thinkers who revere facts over blind politics and blind religious ideology) have Chomsky on our side. We used to have Alan Dershowitz(during the Vietnam War) but we lost him to the right wingers, the Rethugs. Now Dershowitz is in the company of deep thinkers like Bill Kristol and David Brooks.(sarcasm).
And so, I am thinking, that MSM like the NYT will just go on embarrassing itself into obscurity, and into a tabloid level of performance, and possibly into relative obscurity.
