  • off topic... (silly)

Let's double dare, triple dare, and dang devil dare?

    O it's nearly a 'round, a full, a bright Moon night.

    O a innocent.

Maybe after it's cool, and dark, walk in the Moonlight?.

I say stay out of the upscale thing of dull think worlds.

    O see a Moon.

Let's Moon the Moon? Maybe have some blue cheese?

Enjoy some cheese on a full Moon? No can hurt. Cheers.

  • @Bystander, Mona

    Nonsense, Bystander.

Your response was the high point of the (afternoon?). You must be a "morning person".

    ;-)

    Mona,

While I agree with J's politics on many (not all) issues, he's the closest thing I've seen to a LWA in some time, with more than a few of the traits. He's not adnoto, but just as irksome.

He just seems immune to facts. A human affliction found almost everywhere.

But I did make one error in my last comment: the nut-job who murdered Judge Lefkow's husband and mother was not a defendant, he was the plaintiff. But he has utterly nothing to do with Matt Hale.

"Media portrayal of Hillary Clinton evokes an old and vicious cultural stereotype: Female monster..."

  • What?

Hillary Clinton is the only candidate with testiscular fortitude? Silly.

  • Re: "the rumors"

You know, about Obama and Edwards...

I suggest that the Obama Girl troupe at barelypolitical.com hoke up a YouTube vid that depicts Kathleen Parker's innuendos as a cover for her secret fantasy attraction to the twosome, along the lines of the Obamagirl instant classic, "Hillary, Stop The Attacks"!

Parker must have some television appearance footage somewhere that can be re-worked toward that purpose, she's apparently been on O'Reilly's program and Chris Matthews' show.

... [J]'s the closest thing I've seen to a LWA in some time ...

Yes. And, that makes him a particularly interesting read to me; here and elsewhere. I'll give Glenn this round, but I hope that doesn't drive JNagarya off. I can list others I find a great deal more irksome than J, even if J did denigrate my bike handling skills awhile back. (It was probably deserved.)

Although I genuinely enjoy skeet shooting with a .20 guage, and paper target shooting with a .38/.357, I have to concede J's 2nd amendment arguments are difficult to refute. IANAL, so I won't even try. *Sigh* If push comes to shove, and J gets to argue that one before SCOTUS (and prevails), I guess I'll have to default to target archery.

  • a companion piece for Glenn's post

Some of my friends are over at the moment and they got a BIG kick out of this. Authoritarian? Me? That takes the cake. The idea is as laughable as you are.

  • @bystander

Thanks for those links! I'd read Krugman (never miss him) and the Janczsen (sp!) bit in Harper's, but the rest was new. Thanks again.

  • @adnoto

Just so you know, it was not my intention to affirm LWM's characterization of you. Honestly, there are now so many commenters here, I have trouble keeping them straight.

I personally have no basis on which to label you an "authoritarian."

  • Helen Marshall

Thank you for sharing your (alas, aborted) comments. I hope you'll pack those up in an email to WaPo, they need to hear it. The JWR article also had Parker's email at the bottom ... I suspect your email would fall on deaf ears, but she should see what you have to say, just the same, if you're so inclined.

    Thanks again.

  • Consider the source

Give credit for this new low to Fred Hiatt, the intellectually dishonest weasel who runs WaPo's editorial pages. And to his bosses, Len Downie and Don Graham.

  • HERE WE GO, FOLKS!!!!!

Kathleen Parker, THAT RACIST OFAY white-trash B-I-T-C-H

BELONGS IN THE Reich-wing's REDNECK CRACKER-ASSED NICHE!!!!!

HER IMBECILIC CANARDS ABOUT Barack Obama AND John Edwards

    ARE THE TYPICAL G.O.P. fudge-pachyderm SMEAR-TURDS

PRODUCED BY WALKING SKID-MARK SHIT-STAIN Parker AS AN ANOMALIC GLITCH!!!!!

  • Ugly attacks on candidates

I sure wish you had the courage to front off the NY column of Ms. Maureen Dowd for the many ugly attacks on Hillary similar to the above but as we say it depends whose Oxx is gored. A sexual innuendo is odious no matter the object of the attack. Right? You were of course standing up for gay people. Right again?

fwiw. Dean Baker blogs for The American Prospect at http://www.prospect.org/csnc/blogs/beat_the_press

I don't catch him daily, but I find it worthwhile to stick my head in from time to time.

  • Park Her

Kathleen Parker just jumped off a cliff and does not seem to have noticed.

  • @Bystander, adnoto

J's arguments re: the second amendment will be moot in June when the people charged with interpreting the amendment make a ruling. Those "people" will be actual Supreme court justices. I'm putting my money on the "individual rights" interpretation. J has stated they will be "wrong" if they rule that way, of course. Authoritarian.

    Adnoto,

Apparently neither you or your friends can read.

I said J "was no adnoto but just as irksome".

He's the authoritarian leftist. You are the anarchist leftist. I find you both irksome at times but agree with your politics for the most part, except, in your case, the part about smashing everything and in his case, wanting to control everything. What is it with extremists? Nevermind. Rhetorical question.

The ground of liberty is to be gained by inches, and we must be contented to secure what we can get from time to time and eternally press forward for what is yet to get. It takes time to persuade men to do even what is for their own good.
