In 1936 John McCain was born in the Canal Zone, now part of Panama.
Barack Obama was born in the USA.
I would imagine that there are more U S voters with varying percentages of various races, ethnicities, etc in their heritage who might take some umbrage when presented with Ms Parker's comments than there are white bigots who really vote on the basis of the race(s) of the candidate's forbearers.

Some would suggest that screwing the country like Enron or Exxon have done, is tantamount to treason, and they are all native born. Let me remind you that Obama was born in the USA, he's not an immigrant. To question his patriotism because his father was born in Africa is as racist as it gets.
The floodgates to the racist comments about Obama's "difference" from "blue-blooded" Americans actually started right after Hillary's infamous comments on 60 minutes-"Of course Senator Obama is not a Muslim...as far as I know".
The repulsive right wing took her words as a license to start an all out attack on Obama and his allegiance to the US.

I agree, but I don't think it is piling on Salon for not being exactly being upfront on this point. There seem to be some who are blindly tied to a certain candidate that haven't gone out of their way to dispelled this myth. The stakes in discussing these issues has more to do with discussing race and NOT racism. It is too easy to point the finger of racism so as to not discuss important issues.

That sounds like something straight from Arnold Schwarzenegger(girly men), the governator who is aligned with the decider. Two twits if there ever were...and Rethugs they both are.
Do they all have sex hangups or is it just the Bush family and everyone else is trying to run cover for them. Why is sex something they always return to. Why is it such a big issue with them. They keep returning to what must be a central dynamic with them. Or is fear of impotence at the core of their preoccupation. Do they feel like impotent/helpless human beings. It all seems like a huge compensation reaction. Maybe that is why they are all such total chicken-hawks.
Does anyone have anyone have any more thoughts or ideas on this constantly re-occurring subject of theirs.
It surely seems to be a centrral theme with them. So many of them are so pusillanimous. Little boy haircuts and cherubic faces(and evil minds) are evident everywhere in the Rethug party. Just look at Lindsey Graham and Tom DeLay for starters.
Methinks they dost protesteth way far too much. Peepy creeple, I mean creepy people they are.
