"Actual journalists" as government spokespeople

New documents obtained by the ACLU shed more light on the U.S. torture regime and how "actual journalism" works.

The letters thread is now closed.

Soldiers Story

Subpoenas and Information Act requests, inquiries, hearings, criminal prosecutions and civil law suits may expose some details along with the document sifting.

But my hunch is that there are many current and former participants and witnesses both military, mercenary, governmental and non, who will come forward with fact and confirmation to blow the lids off some of these incidents.

I don't think the high suicide rate among soldiers is a fluke.

If more House and Senate would join the fight, it think the signal will be sent and witnesses will answer.

Some who have served are home now. Reporters could talk with the Veterans groups to see who might agree to go on the record.

There must be sources in and near government, the military, and others in position who have knowledge, memory and conscience enough to knock the locks off the sordid secrets vaults.

Once those who know feel it's okay to speak, the conspiracy may be unveiled.

They may be reading and waiting in anguish, hoping for a wider and louder invitation to bring out their evidence and testimony.

When they see it's safe to come out, the hearings will finally begin to produce what's needed to precede what next January's restored Justice Department will be carrying on with.

That little 97 to 1 Senate oil stash vote just taken is 1 signal step towards confronting.the rogue aberrance which has deformed our workings of government and its accountability.

It's time to roll on these crooks.

The gossip columnists masquerading as members of The Free Press mentioned in this story can think about what they have allowed and ignored.

Go get them.

@ LWM (!!!!!!!)

Zionism is a political idealogy. Judaism is a monotheistic religion. Which is why Christian Zionists and Muslim Zionists can be zionists without being Jews. Do you disagree?

anti-semitic

Am I? How would you know? Despite your obvious (and not a little worrisome) hysteria, anti-Zionism is not anti-semitism. Or is that what you would call Finklestein, Mearsheimer, or Walt?

I wonder...

how many journalists moonlight as members of the intelligence community? A few? Several? Many?

Since most of the so-called journalists are relatively intelligent educated people their steady stream of deceptions cannot be accidental. Why would journalists deceive the American people about war, gin up hatred against all of Islam, act as cheer leaders for the military, supply a dishonest narrative to avoid honest appraisals of government actions and decisions, go along with the threats that intimidate Americans into silence, intimidate people to exhibit nationalistic and militaristic behavior, swear allegience to right wing Israelis' agenda, act as if America never has nor ever could behave badly, idealize the military, obstruct justice, cooperate in war crimes, accept the ludicrous excuses of the administration to avoid the rule of law, praise examples of false patriotism and heroism, advance a narrative that is destructive to the American people, treat all Americans as if they are suspects in criminal acts, encourage neighbors to spy on neighbors and employers to spy on employees, hire illegal mercenaries, agree with the twisted logic intended to undermine the Constitution, accept the fascist marriage between government and business, promote greed, avarice, self-serving behavior, and sadism as virtues, advance callous public discourse to lower the standards by which we judge official actions, accept a murderous and violent law enforcement stance, corrupt retired military officers, torture P.O.W.s, work to destroy our democratic republic to replace it with an evil plutorcracy, enhance prejudices in every form, deny the existence of human dignity, eliminate due process and the concept of innocent until proven guilty, appeal to our most base instincts, deliberately advance ignorant opinions, and participate in other despicable acts that in the real world would be considered acts of treason?

Despite your obvious (and not a little worrisome) hysteria, anti-Zionism is not anti-semitism.

You are arguing with lwm/Ron Paulic/many other sockpuppets, and they are insane. They post around the clock pretending to be liberal but always supporting the opposite of liberal thought.

Good luck finding a sane conversation.

aka PONY.

I saw an anti-war protest march on the net someplace and a girl was holding up a sign, "whores, not wars". I guess that is the modern version of "make love, not war".

Too bad neither slogan will sell to Americans, we love to kill the defenseless far too much.

renzo....< Yuppy Tag > capetti.

Volunteers can be from the "former" soldier mortuary loiterers. Glenn is a "former" constitutional Lawyer. Now he is a butterfingered lawyer.

Klein munches butter popcorn while he gnaws yellow.

Klein chops at jaws peppered in corn kernels of cobs.

Klein has an apologist role for the nasty con-crimes.

... ....

........ The You-Turd is The Obnoxious.

The films the UT readers ought to watch are the farmer maternity ward scenes of actual births of the neocons. The DVD of neo-con actual crap moment before birth can now be viewed on You-Turd at UT in your home. Yup, zero-$-down.

.... Watch three times. Invite the goo cops.

........ Needs to be watched.

........ See Mengele.... Yep Yuppy.

`No desire is more natural than the desire for knowledge`

That's the opening sentence of Aristotle's 'Metaphysics'.

~;

Are we ready to see a neocon? Pull a ass Are you sure?

Are we ready to see the pre-birth viewing of a horse ass?

Are we sure? Well. What drops out first before a colt? turd.

That is the most wondrous fact. The turd becomes a neocon.

The turd is wiped, put in a maternity, and make it a mortuary.

The birth phenomena is beautiful. Before a babe pops out? turd.

The "Actual journalist" as government spokespeople are the turds.

`;

... butterfingered trolls defend the maladministration as a wondrous pre-birth phenomena.

GOP's Prospects Worst Since Watergate

It is time to recognize that the GOP is going to once again be the minority party that it was for so many decades. The Democratic Party can return the USA (somewhat) to the rule of law and following the constitution, or it can grab goodies for its constituents.

Which will happen?

Syria’s Short Stack

James Acton, Arms Control Wonk, May 13, 2008

http://www.armscontrolwonk.com/1881/syrias-short-stack

ISIS have released an impressive and comprehensive report

http://tinyurl.com/3kvzez (pdf)

detailing the deception techniques used by the Syrians for the Box On the Euphrates. It answers a question that has been bugging me for a while: Where are the protrusions? North Korea’s reactor has two such protrusions. There is the tall, thin stack attached to the reactor building itself and the much thicker but shorter cooling tower to the South. The stack is for venting carbon dioxide from the primary cooling circuit. The cooling tower is for the secondary water-cooled circuit. Syria’s reactor has (or more relevantly had) neither. You can do without a cooling tower if you happen to have a large river nearby that you can discharge the hot water into and, well, the Box On the Euphrates is not called that for nothing. But where is Syria’s stack? I had blithely been asserting for a while before USIC presented its evidence that if the BOE was a reactor it couldn’t have been all that close to completion because there was no stack. I was wrong. Abright and Brannan explain:

"According to US government experts, the reactor’s ventilation system was carefully hidden. The air intakes of the ventilation system are assessed to be along one wall of the building, according to these experts (see figure 23). They noted that two rectangular structures located against the wall have louvers at the top through which air can enter. One structure visible is what the intelligence community assessed could be the foundation and remaining part of the stack (see figure 25). According to US government experts, a pipe or small stack could have been extended through the fake roof after the reactor started operating. Until that time, the top of the stack may not have been more than a hole or cover in the fake roof, according to U.S. government experts (see figure 24)."

Cunning. I’ll add that reading it made me feel a bit sorry for the workers in the plant. Stacks are tall for a reason ; they contain slightly radioactive carbon dioxide that ought to be dispersed away from ground level. Makes you wonder what other safety corners Syria cut.
