One of the concerns some Democratic Party strategists have expressed is that the general public will blame the Democrats for everything after Obama wins and the congress is taken in a landslide.
The Democrats will not run the government "completely", but they may be blamed as if they did.

If the White House staff were indeed involved, can we bring suit against them?
That means Perino's denial was false and that the White House had at least some knowledge of and involvement in this propaganda program.
Its almost a given at this point you can disregard any statement from this Administration as misleading (at best).
So if this is proof at least some of the White House staff were aware of this program, what kind of legal action could be brought? Even hypothetically?

Glenn, this whole military analyst scandal makes me wonder about 2 more subjects which are ripe for some in-depth investigation by you and others who are true to their craft:
1) When is an investigation/expose going to be done regarding why our Congress refuses to act against the plethora of crimes that have been perpetrated by this administration? I don't need to delve into the list, all of us here know it almost by heart. But what is really going on here? It's not as if this Congress is actually being productive at anything else--I view it as a fundamental dereliction of their duty that they have not pursued these crimes to the fullest extent. Shouldn't there be an in-depth investigation into why they've not taken any action? We spent $100,000,000 chasing down a blue dress and a blow job, but these unbelievable crimes which have cost so much more in blood and treasure are not worth pursuing? Something is very wrong with this picture.
2) 5+ years and we still haven't managed to find a way to put metering devices on Iraqi oil wells? This goes all the way back to when Michael Moore discussed this in his movie Farenheit 911. Surely there is a trail to be followed here, complete with embezzlement and thievery that must be into the billions of dollars by now....

Clearly Donald Rumsfeld was aware of the program and as a cabinet Secretary wasn't he part of the White House? Seems like it is clear the White House knew of this program, whether George Bush did or not...

Don't mind me; I'm just filling the concern troll role, worrying about how the people who disagree with you will perceive this post.
We know enough about the adminstration for there to be no doubt that Karl Rove was involved, but a single name (2 - counting the update) in lower case among 8000 pages of documents will be attacked as grasping at straws.
I do see another opportunity however to raise a stink over the fact that Karl Rove himself used RNC e-mail accounts for official WH business, in direct violation of the law, and precisely to prevent his involvment in this sort of activity from becoming public knowlege.

The Congressional Independent Counsel Act (1978) that created The United States Office of the Independent Counsel...
In 1978, a Democratic Congress was determined to curb the powers of the President and other senior executive branch officials due in part to the Watergate scandal and related events such as the Saturday Night Massacre. They drafted the Ethics in Government Act, creating a special prosecutor (later changed to Independent Counsel) position, which could be used by Congress or the Attorney General to investigate individuals holding or formerly holding certain high positions in the federal government and in national Presidential election campaign organizations....
