  • From?

David From? Sprung from the loins of Barbra? Did I really write that?? Sheesh, supersize me for a hare-brained idjit. I meant FRUM. As It Happens. The coolest Canuck woman this side of Sylvia Tyson. Keep your Avril (yoiks) and your Celine (double yoiks). Aand don't keep, but please ship down-south (COD) Stephen Harper: the guy is dumber than Phoney Tony Blair (the man who would be Rod Stewart)-- Stevie actually believes that he can be buddies with the big boys (Dick & the NeoRat Pack). Tony actually believed (wipe that grin off your face, boy) that America thought that anyone outside the bubble had some stroke. Like they were going to trust him to make a deal with Sharon (is that SOS still breathing?) and the other guys -- you know -- the bombers?? Sorry my bad. But I still say, David fell far from the tree. Sometimes I wonder what happens to kids. What goes on behind closed doors. Charlie Rich. Are you listening??

Is there anything else besides insults and namecalling? I mean I wouldn't want the people who's opinions outnumber mine 100 to 1 to feel persecuted or anything.

  • Electro-lux

Now that's quality. A good hoover by any other name. Name-calling?? Sheesh, don't get me started. As my daddy remarked when he saw the Great Dane doing the Daschund -- it's amazing how low some will stoop. Reading your other posts (prolific little tyke, ain't we?), I can well understand why you are -- errrr, disliked.

  • Poor David Frum

Imagine, living you life when your sole claim to fame is that you are a "former Bush speech writer". He couldn't even hold that job after his wife shot her mouth off and got him fired.

I wonder how many "I wrote the Axis of evil speech, and all I got was this lousy t-shirt" he owns.

Who listens to this guy anymore? Does anyone remember his magnum opus, "An End to Evil: How to Win the War on Terror"? From Publishers Weekly: "In direct, often bulleted prose, the authors voice strong support for President Bush's current policies and initiatives, including the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and for his policy of preemptive strikes where there is a perceived threat. They also push for a more vigilant "self-policed" America, the use of national ID cards, unwavering support for Israel, a hard line with Libya, Syria and the Saudis, and indifference toward European governments that stand in our way."

    What a cipher.

  • @ Svensker

WHEN are the candidates going to be asked about their stance on Swedish/Norwegian fishing rights?

For Norrrr-VEEE-geee-unnns (or Norskers, if you prefer), Swedes are always "in season". No limit either, kind of like smelt. You know, like lutefisk.

    Cheers,

  • Electro Robot

I mean I wouldn't want the people who's opinions outnumber mine 100 to 1 to feel persecuted or anything.

Would that be at all like the countries with the huge armies and mountains of nuclear weapons feeling persecuted by the countries that have none?

  • If I'm Not Mistaken...

Wasn't ElectroBot asked for his/her/its definition of anti-Semitism?

Of course no response was forthcoming, thus proving that he/she/it is simply a spam bot or spider. As someone mentioned the other day, his/her/its next post simply followed the standard format:

    Subject <@person-who-made-the-mistake-of-responding-to-my-last-insane-accusation-of-anti-Semitism>

    Body

You are an anti-Semite. All of Salon is anti-Semite. Glen Greenwald is anti-Semite. Hitler. The SS. Holocaust. Israel=unquestionable good. Criticism of Isreal=anti-Semitism; see above statements, repeat.

WHY does anybody respond when he/she/it can't muster a factual definition of its own opinions?

It is a bot or a mental patient.

  • -- Electro Robot @ "...people who's opinions outnumber mine 100 to 1..."

Yes you're outnumbered, surrounded on all sides by people you don't like or agree with but who were established here before you chose to settle. Must seem very strange to you.

  • @ Xrandadu Hutman

Anybody who thinks the West Bank settlements are in any way defensible is an idiot, period.

They gotta live somewhere.... So why not in some postage stamp of hot, arid, dustblown land where some other poor schmuck was living?

    Cheers,

  • @ Derbig Mooser

Perhaps some Zionist can refresh my Jewish mind; What was it Jews were supposed to do for God in Israel that they couldn't do anywhere else?

And what was it God was supposed to do for the Jews in Israel that he couldn't do for them (or not do, as He chooses) anywhere else?

I never have figured that out.

I've never read a reply to that query from a territorial Zionist, which has been known to lead me to unwholesome speculations- such as my trepidation that if it were ever to be expressed, the answer would consist of the thunderous declamation that "quantum physics is Aryan physics!"

  • Ah, let me clarify

The mere MENTION of Israel here or ANYWHERE in Salon will, with 99% certainty guarantee that at least 12 letters/comments will follow the article or blog entry, all of them referencing anti-Semitism or bigotry toward Jews.

That fact alone is really starting to make me chuckle as I sit here pondering what ELSE this Electro Robot person/thing accomplishes in a given day.

  • Ladeez & Gennelmen . . .

Electro-lux may left the building. And he may be having tea and crumpets with Anonymoose . . . and swapping bumper stickers.

Of course, I may be wrong. It wouldn't be the last time. Some folks are gluttons for, say, self-flagellation (and even a few, a nimble few, who are into self-fellatio -- but that's another story). He may return with a few more accusations of anti-semite / holocaust-denier / anti-American / whatever. Then again, if he's being paid by the word . . . ?

  • General Zod

Yes Like I just said. The people who form a pack, a mob, screaming that one person out of hundred dare disagree with them. That single opinion, they must be the enemy, worthy of only insults. And you wonder why people don't take you all that seriously?

I wondering what you think a rational point of view is? I mean one that's realistic? Use both sides of the test booklet if you like, take as much time as you want. Points off for degenerating into a pooh flinging chimp. I bet you can't do it. You got the angry sophomoric mob thing down pat. See if you can evolve beyond that.
