"Bring 'Em On?"
That is the important essay; he will never top that one. (nor will I)
"... We often fantasized together about shooting his helicopter down as a way of relieving our deep resentment against this faceless, starched and spit-shined despot. ..."
I knew many disabled vets who claimed to have fragged, or witnessed the act. To the man, they came back anti-war no matter how they had went in. Too bad that so many here can not see that stopping the empire is the first step toward obtaining our freedom. (then stop the war on crime/drugs) Then get serious about stopping the domestic interventions.

Hall Monitor.
If everybody brushes and flosses with cherry flavored dental boot shoe strings I'll be there.
We can undo our updo.
The room doormats says?

Who cares what abs look like?
Just remove boots and wash feet.

However, one can still get shouted down online. It happens more here than I would like.
I skip a lot of the cut and paste verbiage, I find the direct opinions of the participants considerably more interesting most of the time.
Like GG mentioned about skimming 8,000 pages, you can discount a lot of stuff without having to read every syllable..
If you really and truly stick to your guns and have a good argument for your position it is well nigh impossible to be shouted down online. Interested readers will seek out and follow your comments if they are worthwhile.
I've been on quite a few very right wing sites (back when a lot of them actually allowed comments) and rapidly gotten to the point where no one would reply to me at all.

@bucky1 re: moi
I can also see that an attack on Ron Paul or antiwar.com or lewrockwell.com is coming everyday much like the attacks on Mona came every day until she just faded away. She posts once in a while, but she left because (I am guessing obviously) she thought more of [Glenn] than the principle of the thing.
If I may be permitted to speak for myself. Some time ago I let Glenn know via email that I find various commenters here -- and not all of them related to pro- or anti-libertarianism, tho some are -- to be so degrading of discussion in their petty insult wars, that sometimes I can't stand to read or participate. Yes, I have had periods of extreme disgust with ignorant rants about what "all libertarians supposedly believe, and why." And, I have taken breaks when my annoyance level hits a point where it is healthy for me to do that.
That all said, overwhelmingly, the primary reason I comment here less is that I suddenly have a multitude of projects going, not least being blogging responsibilities at two sites, and also some non-blog work I do with/for Glenn and others.
Finally, bucky1, I think you contribute at least as much to the problem of degrading this comments sections as anyone. LWM can be ignored -- I did it off and on for months at a time. And then there are others, alluded to above, who shit and piss at each other over non-libertarian issues on a semi-regular basis -- there is enough blame to go around, and in any event, my relative lack of commenting here is only partially related to all the egotistical, endless flaming.

No read 8,000 comments while breaking crab legs with a wood mallet.
No pick the crab meat out with fresh manicured finger nails. Nor type.
The key board gets to smell crabby.
I am gone. I'll go to chow immediately.

Strange
Despite the relentless and unceasing propaganda coming from the networks how is it that now 63% or more now see the war as wrong or a mistake? What was it that got that much of the public past the total propaganda spewed by the networks? Imagine what the negatives on the war would be if the networks practiced journalism.

Shure you can speak for yourself, and I did say I was guessing just as you quoted. I was thinking more of the original UT outbreak between you and lwm than recent times and I guess I must miss some of your comments these days since it just seems like you used to contribute a lot more. Welcome contributions at that.
I do like http://www.theartofthepossible.net/ a lot, and wish that endeavor well.

I am having trouble with this 'you can ignore him' stuff. In my mind, allowing him to propagandize and smear without rebuttal smacks of intellectual cowardice to me.
I did ask Glenn for advice, but I have never emailed him as I much prefer to talk it out in public. I know that a few of those you are talking about have their little private e-mail lists and talk over whose day it is to do what, but that is just grade school stuff of no import.
So Mona, I guess I am saying that I am not one to just let good men get slimed without fighting back. I was taught from childhood that cowardice is the only unforgivable sin.
What would you suggest I do?
