If Al-Qaeda toppled the Saudi royal family, they might refuse to sell us oil ...
If Iran supports Hezbollah which radicalizes the region, the Hashemite and the Saudi Royal Family and those various little nasty oil states might suffer ...
IMHO, this is not "all" about Israel ... it is ALL about oil and the economic security of the Unite States ...
Iran is a Founding Member of OPEC, kept in check by the other members, wrt oil ... Imagine if Iran became the VANGUARD nation in the liberation of the Arab/Moslem people from undue Western influence ...
The Saudis and the Egyptians and others in that region have shown time and again how little they care about the palestinians and how much their outrage and support wrt "how they are treated" is lip service intended as cover so business as usual continues ...
Enjoy your predictable outrage ... It is the "status quo" that is being defended here ... Israel is part of that "status quo" ... Israel is a "better," more reasonable, neighbor that the inevitable radical islamic state that might replace it.
