I realize that this is small potatoes in the totality of life but...
We locally are fighting Dow Chemical and the Bushist EPA and our own Hillary Clinton (Moderate Democrat Jennifer Granholm) in their efforts to keep us living in the toxic pollution of from Dow Chemical's headquarters in Midland Michigan.
How bad has it gotten?
The Lt. Governor just told the Department of Environmental Quality to butt out on requiring permits and the Bushist EPA just pushed out the Great Lakes administrator of the EPA for daring to test for more contamination!
This issue has gotten practically NO local airplay and what we have gotten solidly backs the polluters, politicians and blames the Michigan DEQ for 'ruining the local economy'.
We need more exposure! We are living in a cesspool of moderate democrat and hard right fascistic republicanism and the resulting toxic pollution... My neighborhood was dubbed 'worse than Love Canal' for the levels of dioxin being found and a major Superfund site and yet the politicians still dance to the tune Dow is paying for...

In a time where 'Support the troops' is about supporting war profiteers, 'Support the environment' is about letting corporations dump whatever they want to increase their profits.
It ought to be disgusting but these politicians have no shame...
