  • NBC's News anchor is a toddler....

.... a toddler, who has a big blog-dump in the pants weighing him down, is Mr. Williams.. He's an insecure blogger, and a streaked-pants news-castor. A big poop. NBC hires poop-britches, Brian Williams, to propagate guile. It's disgusting.. Tell the truth and be 'nice' humans... okay.

The good news. Anonymust @ 8:55. ~ Yep.

The local podiatrist and herbalist inform :~

Even a taxidermist would confirm the opine.

The chocolate will not make you a sneezer.

The dermatologist says, 'Enjoy great cocoa'...

You are allergic, and cough via the nose at the Lies.

The Laundering Grinch stole the Chicago Cubs socks?

Huh. Yea. He stole the dirty socks to put on bear's bare feet?

    No. silly.

You know The dirty GOP white socks were stinking so horrible!

Then, the DoJ AG, who was reared at a Laundry mat, came clean.

No post comments here while sipping beer. No socks, no tank tops.

    'um so bare Naked.

At least the NBC hired a toddler anchor who wears a soiled diaper? grunt. Call the AG.

  • Why would anyone trust major defense contractors to report honestly on the wars they profit from?

Brain Williams is just another expensive weapon of mass destruction manufactured by G.E. and aimed straight at the heart of American democracy.

  • Beautifully written, Glenn

Kudos for calling out the establishment media again!

  • @ shooter

Oh, I'm sorry. You had no inkling that former Generals might be affiliated with the pentagon, or military industrial complex? Perhaps you thought they might be anti-war? The GENERALS? My, what a gentle soul, so innocent and naive.

    and

most commenters on a particular subject have hidden affiliations. Yes, yes, I know. It's a horrible thing to say, but sadly it's reality. Generals are not the only ones with financial and philosophical ties to shadowy entities. You know in your heart it's true. Search your feelings.

Of course, I know it's true that former generals may be predisposed to spout the Pentagon line, even when they aren't being explicitly told by the Pentagon what to say and how to say it as was the case here. Just as I know that there's a good chance that medical experts are talking the Big Pharma line and pundits on energy policy may very well be speaking for Big Oil. That's why the only things on my TV are DVDs and the cat.

Hmmm. Because Racism is a more pressing issue than mistaking Generals for anti-war advocates? It's now an issue in the election. Ignoring it only makes it worse.

I think Americans would welcome the chance to discuss race in a productive way, but I don't see how deconstructing Wright does that. If there's anything to explore there, it's the unquestioned assumption that his ideas have some special import because he is black. The more important discussions on race are tied up with its cousin, socioeconomic class. What would be best is if Americans could discuss both race/class and the heavy hand of government in our free press, since both are important.

Wouldn't it best, if everyone revealed all? Shouldn't every commenter come clean and bare all like they do on the financial networks? Wouldn't this be a better world? I merely ask that Glenn acknowledge the reality of ulterior motivations from the left as well as right. Fairness is all I desire.

The standard for ethical behavior by professionals in every institution I've ever been a part of and every one I've been familiar with is to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest. So yes, I think when someone is being paraded out as an expert, especially on issues of life and death, it behooves the public to know exactly who's buttering their bread.

I'd like to know your argument as to why this isn't good policy.

  • War profiteers..such as...

....the corporations that own the network and cable news outlets (and their preening talking head parrots like Brian Williams, who so obviously enjoys the heady company of powerful "patriots"), they can't really be stopped - But we the viewers must insist on full disclosure when an "expert" is paraded before us. Then we can make our own judgements. I normally watch NBC Nightly News - Never again, they have abused this viewer's trust.

  • Suggested Name For The Process

The process of paying military analysts to express the Pentagon line should be called "War Payola."

Paying radio stations money to play certain records is illegal only when it is undisclosed. Paying corrupt ex-generals to lie about wars is apparently legal whether disclosed or not, but I think the term War Payola is apt, and damning.

  • Why?

So the real question is, why have we tolerated this whole news analyst nonsense to begin with?

Loss of the Fairness Doctrine, and loss of public service requirements in broadcasting.

So the news becomes like the vaudeville shows in the early part of the last century. Who ever is a "draw" gets on, and in a tableau designed to show them to their best advantage.

Those Generals might as well be doing cross-talk acts or Pat'n Mike jokes.

  • @Aycharaych

The parents have failed the children. Ultimately it is the parents' responsibility to educate their children in the necessities of living in a free country. This is something which the government cannot be trusted to do.

Right. The government pursues policies that result in both parents needing to work full-time jobs to get by, and we end up with whole generations of children who never get the necessary education.

  • Too broad a brush

Another aspect to this story is the firing of former generals who are too critcal of the war of starting new wars! Gen. Batiste lost his consulting gig at CBS when he was deemed too critcal.

Gen Odom was a consultant to NBC...that was until he watched the "statue falling photo-op" and said on the air that "if this was all the enthusiasm the Iraqis were showing at that event"..."THERE WOULD BE A HUGE INSURGENCY"...poof he is gone...demoted to the back water of PBS.

How come ADM. Fallon has not gotten a consulting gig? He is the ADM who was fired for not being a hawk against Iran and China.

This more complex than the kneejerk leftie caricature "exmilitary=hawks and hippie for peace."
