Pedinska .`~; See the bulldoze as a garden pruning? It will grow again....
Who is T. Suarez? Who knows. A phony. A blue pony? A ill-one on the way to a doc-vet?
On the wayward rush to the Vet Emergency Room to get a black poodle pruned, T.Suarez sideswipes a red ambulance? Maybe he/she is a GOP reckless driver who is perfecting in broads swipes. Demented.
A real bad accident,
waiting to happen.

-- quickstrategy: If Noonan actually talked to some of those fine folk at Gate 14...
Noonan brought her own baggage to Microcosm 14 and convinced herself everyone else was carrying the same.
But the whole "does Obama love America enough?" thing is perfect for the Noonan right because it isn't something that can be quantified or verified and the standards can be changed at will into more restricitive sub-sets, the whole point of which is simply to set Obama apart as the Other.
Noonan alerts the Tribe to the danger of the Other, but pretends that her fear-based tribal cues are experienced by the Everypersons of Gate 14. And then Williams, of the Libreal media, helps legitimize her.
By the way, the mind reading thing gave me a good laugh.

Obama should sneak 3 pins into his next debate.
I think Barack should sneak 3 lapel pins into his next debate. Then when it comes in he can show 2 pins and say. "See, I must love America twice as much as you." Then the third. Three times as much. Then explain how such escalation will lead people to think their politicians work at TGI Fridays. It reminds me of the required "flair" in Office Space.
The people that complain about this kind of thing are the same ones who put magnetic yellow ribbons on their Escalades. (Cant put a sticker or something you couldn't take off.) They don't understand that the true patriotic thing to do is drive a smaller car.

Sticking a $3 piece of enameled metal on one's suit
is a legitimate act of patriotism and example of character? What kind of moron believes that crap, especially when the vast majority of those who wear these idiotic emblems of absolutely nothing actively evaded military service during the Vietnam war? If anything, wearing one of these silly tshochtkes makes one's character and patriotism suspect, like all those war-supporting SUV-driving idiots and cowards who put "I Support the Troops" ribbon magnets on their gas-guzzlers while taking absolutely ZERO actual actions to support these same troops.
Some of us live in the real world, with real issues and problems, and others in made-up symbolic worlds with ponies and ribbons and marshmallow pies. I'd say that which one one chooses to live in (and it is a choice) and how one chooses to
act in it, says a lot more about one's character than what fashion accessories one wears.

What we really want to know...
I'm just a work from home nobody, but since it's so easy for anybody to speak for "the average people". Let me do so. We want to know:
What the candidates think about domestic spying and what Total Information Awareness-type programs they'll keep and what they'll work to abolish.
How they'll maintain stability in the Middle East as they pull our troops out.
How (or if) they will get power back into the hands of us "little people" and out of the hands of big business.
What they're going to do about all the laws the Bush Administration broke and about the politicization of government pushed by Karl Rove and his ilk, whether they think we can have a government "of the people, by the people and for the people" again.
What are the limits of presidential power?
What's their opinion of International Law and International agreements? Do they think it was okay to trash the Kyoto Protocol and the Geneva Conventions?
What they're going to do about the rising income inequalities in America and all the issues that go with that, like access to health care.
What they're going to do to save our planet.
Umm, and what they think about burning the flag, wearing flag pins and holding your hand over your heart during the National Anthem - just kidding. We don't care at all about those things.
Seriously. What happened to journalism in America? It' pathetic.

Poor Brian Williams. out/over.
Maybe Brian Williams can become a cardiologist? He can tattoo both big biceps arms with a big Valentine Heart.
Inside a heart?
Peggy be mine?
They can both shriek!
Be two gop journalist?
That's a splendid idea.

Agreed. And extending the logic a bit further, it's hard for me to believe that people who ARE concerned about whether you wear trinkets and fashion accessories etc. really care all that much about how much you love your country.
Because anyone concerned about the latter has no time for the former.

Damn that Obama
No, if Obama had kept silent about it, I wouldn't give a fig. It's the fact that he felt the need to lecture us on what he's better than having to wear a flag pin is what sets so many teeth on edge. It fits perfectly into the whole San Francisco-bitter thing; it merely confirms the type of person Obama is.
Why does he KEEP BRINGING UP THAT LAPEL PIN!!!!
-
-- GoodCelery! He can tattoo both big biceps arms with a big Valentine Heart.
And they can "decamp" at his place on the Upper East Side at luchtime for a Peggy Nooner.

prunes
Zactly. I'd also offer that it's just a way to hide and cover up their lack of actual patriorism, like ordering a diet coke with a triple bacon cheeseburger with fries and rings.
-
@kovie
First, Reilly is mindbuzzing me in church, and now you're parked next to me at the Sonic.
This place is getting very creepy.
And the diet coke isn't for the calories. I just happen to like the taste of chemicals. And I have some nails I need to melt by tomorrow.

Great Post!
I couldn't agree more (except for the part about NASCAR...I too watch NASCAR...sorry Glenn it's not just viewed by right-wingers. LOL).
