If the underlying premise of the post is correct,...
...and I believe it is, one can only hope Obama is smart enough to take advantage of the disconnect between McSame's "fear-mongering as usual" approach, and Obama's broader appeal to rationality.
Let's hope the SuperDelegates declare on June 3/4 (or whatever the date is).

If your attempt is to swing the nefarious Jew vote away from McCain towards Obama
Which is neither here nor there on its face, I'm afraid Glenn that either you or your followers miss the point that telling a group of people they're evil, untrustworthy, probably disloyal, neonazi warcriminals is probably not the smoothest way to win them over.
Also I know you keep quoting this 64% figure, but that was one survey done one time sponsored by a fairly leftwing group that asserted this outcome already. Perhaps something more balanaced in the name of, oh I dunno, "journalism" is in order.

I think you make a really, really good point here. And the proof of your point is that American Jews overwhelmingly vote Republican and support right-wing leaders who favor militarism in the Middle East. The vast majority of American Jews support Republican policies such as the Iraq War and a military attack on Iran. Is that what you believe?
It's all just like you said: it's hopeless to try to separate American Jews and the right-wing because they're so inextricably linked, and American Jews are such a reliable voting block for the GOP -- right?

Jewish voters tend to be well informed
We can't expect the main stream press to cover an issue this "complex." Not a rational policy discussion of the middle east for our personality and trivia driven media which give to Americans "what they want" just like any other product. No need for Americans to understand our foreign policy and the implications for it to our domestic policy and our economy.
However, the Jewish voters tend to be well informed so columns like Glenn's coupled with strong statements from Obama have the chance of turing this issue into one that is actually heard. Maybe even Al Frankin can use this as a campaign theme as well.

Electro Robot
Which is neither here nor there on its face, I'm afraid Glenn that either you or your followers miss the point that telling a group of people they're evil, untrustworthy, probably disloyal . . . .
And just by the way - the whole point of what I just wrote is that the premise of McCain and his neoconservative supporters is that American Jews form their political views based on what is best for another country? Do you think that's true about them, too?

Is the Wall Street Journal a "rightwing group"?
"Also I know you keep quoting this 64% figure, but that was one survey done one time sponsored by a fairly leftwing group that asserted this outcome already. Perhaps something more balanaced in the name of, oh I dunno, "journalism" is in order."
Electro Robot
The poll was conducted by Haaretz, one of the two most read and influential newspapers in Israel. Electro Robot's characterization of Haaretz as a "fairly leftwing" group is little bit like calling the New York Times a "fairly leftwing group" (which someone like Electro Robot probably believes anyway). It is neither a "group" nor is it "leftwing." Its admittedly left-leaning editorial orientation on many issues does not change the fact that Haaretz is a legitimate journalistic enterprise, not an ideologically-driven organization.

To reconcile various sides is best for the country. Listen. Postpone a bigotry. LISTEN. Reconcile the factions or it leads to old fashion bloodletting.
I try to be nice. McCain manifest sheer hideousness. The 'fat cats' are deranged. It is as if, IF, as in, if the politico is a dachshunds owner, and runs for a lofty ego goal (commander-in-chief), while one is so so so a goner~deranged, and obviously is lacking the humanity virtues... Obvious! Look.
A mutt dachshund?
I'd vote for packs of stray dog?
These creeps are real ill hyenas.
They race to Gehenna's dumps.
Gehenna was a O.T. garbage site.
A smoldering stench. O Maggots.
Worms did crawl in the craniums.
Dress GOPS up in dachshunds dog suits?
~P.S.
Readers need to read Glenn's book slowly.
In my opinion, a read is packed with real substance.
It fills in many missing 'links' for those still wondering.

When are people going to get tired of being terrorized and brutalized by the Republican Party?
I am so tired of the tactic's of fear I could scream. Don't these people (Bush and McCain) know anything else but a terrorized American public that are quaking in their boots???? I don't think they do. They certainly can't call attention to their successes because I have saw none. So all they can do every election is drag out the old fear machine again and crank it up for another season of fear mongering. How do you solve any problems in the middle-east when you refuse to even talk to the enemy???? Most of the Bush Administration's policies are in the same vein as these two. One's that aren't guided by any large of common sense. In fact, most of the policies come off to me as being something very immature people would indulge in. You don't make a possible ally out of an enemy by ignoring their existence. I can really understand why the people in the region hate us. When are people going to get tired of being terrorized and brutalized by the Republican Party? I certainly am. I will be a long time before I ever consider voting for them again.

He's Number 1!
The latest Israel Factor rankings, published by Haaretz, now rank (on a 1-10 scale) John McCain at 7.75 (up from 7.12 last month), Hillary Clinton at 7.50 (down from 7.62 last month) and Barack Obama at 5.12 (up slightly from 5.00). These rankings are an attempt to determine who would be the "best candidate for Israel".

McCain is trying hard to be the best candidate for Israel. Does that make him a better or worse candidate for the US?
