Proliferation of cheap and effective MANPADS would sure change the balance of power and procurement policies of any air supremacy super power.
It was the Stingers that really turned the tide against the Soviets in Afghanistan. Up until the muj got the Stingers the Soviets were actually doing fairly well.
And the logistics tail for the Reds in Afghanistan was a whole lot shorter than it is for us in either Iraq or Afghanistan.
Just knowing that something is possible is half the battle when you're trying to develop a technological widget.. If there is sufficient demand someone will make MANPADs and make them available to our opponents.
In the same vein, why are the opinions of would-be "scholars" at DC think tanks accepted so uncritically? I'd like to see an examination of the funding sources of AEI, Brookings, etc.
Are companies like Boeing supporting the activities of the more hawkish organizations? What are the interests supporting O'Hanlon, Pollack, the "Saban Center"?
Yesterday I mentioned a raspy voice I heard on the radio.
burp.
He was telling the Air Force what "screw-ups" they were.
We need a military. Look at the predator midget people who act all tough boy like. Oh, and they may soon call a door to door girl scout sales-girl a hero? DOD Gates can't figure!
Gates can't unlatch a white picket fence. Gates is afraid of midget terriers. sheep.
Leave Barbara Bush out of this? How'd you like to be married to George or shooter?
242 eats in fine diners. He sells his left-over sausage and waffles on e-bay to woofer fans.
Timberman? Take 242 for a joy ride in a yellow cab via Beverly Hills. 242 can give the finger?
242 is stressed. Permit 242 to give every pedestrian strolling down the streets the little pinky.
242 may begin to worry with the nervous radio broadcaster. huh. Why? Drudge and R.L. are not doing any good work. It takes all kinds in the world? 'Um play a fiddle? Peanut loves snoopy dog.
The pharmacist reports a shortage of # 3 Tylenol and rubber condoms.
242 needs to retire and operate a carnival ferris wheel.
242 donates his earnings to a National Bulimic Society.
Think of all the wasted upchuck here in just a month.
242 likes to say, 'keep up the great work.' holy rubber.
O'Hanlan has a boss who snoozes. People die from what the neoconservative do espouse. Pollack disseminates red thistle seeds via a murderous mouth. 242 eats blue cheese @ The Saban Center with DOD Gates. Then they complain the Limburger is much better cheese.
A Lady @ Salon Personals is named leahpeah. Leahpeah mentions she teaches the enneagram and wants to embarrass people in public. There are 385 readers in line @ Salon Personals. I've always wondered how many people read U.T. and Salon. Thanks. Is that accurate? What a waste of time. Why do we read here? It's Springtime, Springtime, it's the merry merry Springtime!

William. Try to not let any DOD staff get locked in an abandoned yellow and pink polka dot DC cab. 'Um may cry their teeth out? Huh? No Mind. It will be okay. They can smoke steam the windshield. Put fire-engine red lipstick on the DoJ's Supreme Court's lips? Huh. Then the pro-lie support group can pretend all is fine and swell.
The gop gang can sit on top of fire trucks. Let them howl like 101 black and white prepubescent doggy squirrels with bushy tails. err. Instead of eating nuts in trees this Fall, they can be bound up in jails
after FAIR trials.
Oy! Damnation.
P.S.O.T. It's cute to see possums and humans with no teeth smile with red lipstick.
When called up for jury duty,
a pet peeve of mine is this ~
Why do DoJ judges and lawyers,
keep ogling my friends in court?
At the potential juror selection,
the judge and attorney think?
They are Not in a birthday suit!
Ever wonder why Warren Buffett claims that he pays a lower
tax rate on his earnings than his secretary does? Aycharaych
http://tinyurl.com/67hkwu
Here is Aych right on cue to provide us with a great example of pejorative stereotyping.
Mr Buffett said that he was taxed at 17.7 per cent on the $46 million he made last year, without trying to avoid paying higher taxes, while his secretary, who earned $60,000, was taxed at 30 per cent.
Tsk, tsk, tsk. Too bad nobody mentions that we are talking about
two different tax regimes. Nor does anyone mention that the top
bracket isn't the effective rate, or that capital gains aren't
subject to FICA. No, all we hear is that a billionaire pays a
smaller rate than his secretary. Horrors! Off with their heads!
Ignorance is angst.
If you had let the book editor get away with that ~
You would have had a scathing review from Digby.
If you write any more books, dress Gates up in a girl scout dress.
You need to give away oatmeal cookies with every book to increase sales.
Give away morel pancakes? Scrambled eggs with garlic and fresh goulash? apologies. O.T.
... for why shooter is always so angst-ridden.
Ignorance is angst.

It is a first step shooter. You can't solve a problem until you realize there is a problem. There is hope. As long as your angst is ignorance-related rather than stupidity-related it can be cured.

Paying taxes is paying taxes..
Whose lifestyle is more greatly effected by the tax they have to pay, Mr Buffett or his secretary?
I know in theory that FICA taxes are set aside or invested to pay future Social Security benefits.. The reality is though that those taxes go straight into paying for current benefits and any surplus is gobbled up financing the deficit.. Which has soared beyond human ken under just three Republican presidents.. Reagan, Bush 41 and Bush 43.. Those three administrations account for approximately two thirds of the total US deficit since the Revolutionary war.
