You know it's funny. When my ancestors came to this country not so long ago and their family members who stayed behind in the old country....well they got the last laugh didn't they? I'm always amused by the staunch and furious liberalcrats who run around promising Martial Law and the end of democracy at the drop of a hat and then when you point out to them the real probability of real pogroms starting up in yet another educated effete and 'modern' country, well they just don't accept that it really can happen here.
But as I always remind people - I'll never forget the look on 'rabbi' Michael Lerner's face when he was on stage at some pro Palestinian 'peace' rally with ANSWER, CAIR, and some even scarier far right wing groups, and he took a few steps toward the podium to say his peace and was shouted down by the crowd and even the people with him on stage "Silence Jew, bloody zionist, dog, piece of shit...." etc etc.

The astonished look on his face was worth my getting pelted with food and rocks for wearing a kippah.
A liberal is someone who scolds the stockholder of the car company of the car that just ran over his foot and not the drunk driver behind the wheel.
