bamage? (before Glenn sends obnoxious commenters to the barn) I'm late and gotta hush. cut brush? No.I know...
If this was the Civil War era of "weird" bitterness...
Some loyalist "scholars" would insist their peers be named, Grant and Lee.
I apologize Glenn. I'm calm angry.
I heard you loud and clear last eve? thanks.
You inferred. heh. grunt. GC!
If you don't shut up your getting a upper cut.
I will go dig a hole and look in a Wishing Well.
If you had a flag lapel or a bumper decal that read :
~ Woe unto the DoJ! Yes. Enraged? Yes. of course.

I let my daughter "run with it" - but it distracts and leads nowhere - As I always agree with her 100 percent I only can suggest you guys should talk from time to time with one of the younger and "more idealistic" supporters of Obama - or there is AJCalhoun somewhere on these threads -
This is definitely our last post.

Jebbie
Elephantman reminds me a lot of my second wife.
Well, you just made me simultaneously gag and snort coffee all over the monitor.
An accurate and nauseatingly humorous comparison.

pieceofcake?
You tease? It's not gonna be your last post forever, I hope?
Iron the farm bib overall jeans, brush your teeth, and post.
You are a good shrink. And no one has to pay you a dime.
You are humming a blue grass tune with bahhummingbug.

It's The Lying, Stupid, Not The Attacks
As I commented earlier, there's nothing wrong with attack politics per se. In fact, I will go so far as to say that attack politics is good!
Presidential races address all the most important moral issues and one side is clearly in it for the personal gain of a privileged minority. People who are on the wrong side of torture, war, and promoting the General Welfare DESERVE to be attacked. Since they deserve it, it is only just to do so.
If you don't disagree with your opponent, then why are you running? If you won't criticize people who are on the evil side of torture, illegal wars based on lies, withholding medical care from those who need it, and the further enrichment of the already rich, then who will you criticize? This is doubly the case when the Republicans are actively out there attacking us. If our opponents were decent people whose held reasonable positions and honestly disagreed that would be one thing. But that is decidely NOT how it is.
No, attacks in politics are good. What's bad is LYING in the course of those attacks.

@ GC!
Have we disappointed pieceofcake? It's hard to tell -- he's one of those oblique thinkers who stimulates but doesn't always clarify. In that, he's like bah! I agree, and also like a certain grower of vegetables that we all know and love.
Anyway, for what it's worth, I hope he's pulling our leg again. I'd definitely miss him if he went away. What could I say to dissuade him, though, except that contexts must be addressed one at a time, if they're to be addressed at all. Only the gods can see or say everything at once.

Pedinska.
Beware of Jebbie? Remain the way you are. No go to a salon for a fancy hair style.
If you did that the garden would be filled with wild cats and cat scat. The pond?
The goldfish would look up at you and cry. Richard would start reading a bible?
Ask not to go to mass at National stadium to hear the Pope. Go see Thee Door's.
okay. I see the barn door is inviting me.
I'd rather chirp like a lame quack duck.

"the vote of every thinking man"
Even old and confused John McCain knows that Lyndie England was transferred stateside to Fort Bragg on May 5, 2004, because of her pregnancy, never to return to Iraq again and that Abu Ghraib was "captured" by American forces sometime in 2003. So if you are a thinking person, you can use Wikipedia, or powertools, or sharp objects, or a gun without harming yourself.
Elephant... Our friend LWM is a fan of Wikipedia, as I recall:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/372nd_Military_Police_Company_%28United_States%29
I'm not talking about the battle to capture the Abu Ghraib fortress, in which I am confident the U.S. Marines did not merely break fingers, but also killed a large number of Iraqis. In battle. That's why they call it "a battle."
After its capture, the Abu Ghraib prison fortress was again utilized as a prison and interrogation center, which is when Specialist Graner and Private Lynndie England (not Marines) arrived with the rest of the 372nd Military Police Company and their lazy dumass commander, General Janet Karpinski, to get their freak on and take some snaps, shortly before being court-martialed and sentenced to 10 and 3 years, respectively. There were no Marines court-martialed or investigated in the Abu Ghraib freakshow.
Lalucas.... I did hear Obama state in last night's debate that the voters are smarter than the media thinks they are.
Some are, some aren't, obviously. Anyone considering voting for McCain is obviously not that smart. How many "intelligent" and "educated" voters are smart enough to understand that the real left-right battle in American politics is going on between Obama and Clinton, but still understand there is hardly any daylight or difference between them and that McCain is an aberration, a deformity that is confused with normalacy?
Not enough.
It makes me think of Adlai Stevenson, and although this might be apocryphal, it is a truism which some have remarked is still impolitic, and Obama is careful not to voice it because unthinking people, even those with intelligence and education but no learning or wisdom, won't vote for him anyway. During one of Stevenson's presidential campaigns, a supporter is alleged told Adlai he was sure to "get the vote of every thinking man" in the U.S., to which Stevenson is said to have replied, "Thank you, but I need a majority to win."
I like this story about Stevenson better because it is factual:
Stevenson was assaulted by an anti-United Nations protester in Dallas, Texas, one month before the assassination of Kennedy in that same city on October 24, 1963. A woman carrying an anti-United Nations sign hit Stevenson in the head with the sign; afterwards Stevenson told police to not arrest her, stating that "I don't want her to go to jail, I want her to go to school." Disturbed by the incident, Stevenson advised President Kennedy to not visit the city.

Care to explain this temporal anomaly to us Elephant, or should I turn my attention away from your temporal twists and continuity conundrums to Shooter's bizarre logical contortions about torture and war.
