Susan G.
Even you can understand that.
Searching for "Obama and patriotism" after 2/4/2008 (60 days before your post) still gives me 1,104. Nice try.

More trite insults. How cute.

Hmmm. Who ya gonna believe?
I don't have access to NEXIS, so I couldn't search it if I were inclined to. But what I do have before me is one individual who I can recognize is arguing in good faith, and one my mojo tells me is arguing for the sake of arguing. One has a position, the other has a point. One has substance, the other has a quibble. One I have a year history of reading, and have fact checked before where I can, and have not found deceitful in any sense of the word. One fell out of a tree and landed in the thread just today. One has adopted a reasoned and measured tone. One has been hostile, belligerent, insulting, and accusatory. One is looking at the big picture. One is wallowing in the weeds. One has offered to re-check and has done so. One only seems to know two words; ie, You're wrong. One has offered screen shots, the other has offered invective. ETC.
You've failed to make your case Sally G. This juror, while initially willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, is now willing to cast a ballot from the jury box. You've failed to make your case counselor. A preponderance of the evidence weighs against you.

@Sally (we don't know if Glenn ever...)
Before we wonder why Sally is assuming that Glen is trying trick us with those number, shouldn't we ask ourselves if Glenn has been secretly sending Sally mean spirited private emails?
Think about it: Maybe in the past Glenn used to make fun of Sally and we simply know nothing about it. That might explain why Sally is speaking like she is.
And we don't know if Glenn didn't one day write an email full of lies to Sally, promising her all kinds of money and fame, only to never follow through on his promise.
There is just so much we don't know. What we do know is that Sally must have good, solid reasons to call him a lier. We know she would not just be upset for other reasons. We know she is being nice, considering all we don't know about what Glenn may have once said to her.
I'm just asking that before we get mean spirited and stupid towards Sally, we remember all the bad things that Glenn may have lied to her about once. That's all!!!!

Sally forth; nothing to see here...
Bystander, as well as many others before, sums it up beyond the quibbling of the concern troll in question. The difference, if it exists, between 1200 and 1600, is pretty much a rounding error when the comparison in question is between 80-something and one of those numbers.
To argue that Glenn had to "lie" to make eighty look smaller than a thousand is, I'd like to say, as retarded as it gets, but in the land of heffalumps, shooters, and prowars, it's annoyingly ordinary, but in the worst possible way.
Sally, my dear, is that all you've got? This ain't the Freepers. The reality-based community demands more.
Please make a note of it.

@Carol Richards

Mmmm. now that I think about it, I can see that Glenn might have dipped Sally's pig-tails into the ink well some time or another.
I'm just asking that before we get mean spirited and stupid towards Sally, we remember all the bad things that Glenn may have lied to her about once. That's all!!!!
I'll bet he might have sneaked a peak at her exam paper and stole all her answers. And then the teacher got it turned around and thought it was Sally who stole Glenn's answers. That would make me mad too!!! Poor Sally ;o(

@ bamage
I thought the article lent additional support to the general pattern of abuse unfolding.
Perhaps. But, while I trust that the AT&T/Narus reports from Ess Eff are reasonably accurate and reasonably scary, I don't see a lot to be concerned with from close up myself (in most places) ... although there remains the possibility that much is hidden from me (keeping in mind that it's hard to hide access to switch technology, albeit easier to hide access to backbone circuits).
There's probably two different thrusts; one on the data-mining level, which is probably what the AT&T/Narus thing was, useful for filtering but not for collecting all communications from a specific subject, and the other one on the "targeted" surveillance front, requiring active assistance from the telcos, and probably done through means of NSLs delivered to the telco legal departments.
Cheers,

@Sally G... Sally G... Sally G
Do you know where you are?
Do you know what day it is?
Do you know what year it is?
Do you know what your name is?
Can you tell me who is the president of the United States?
Concussion.

@Kitt (warning)
Kitt,
It very well could be like what you suggest. You might be right about the mean things Glenn may have done to Sally when they were kids. I want to caution you, however, because we simply don't know if Glenn hasn't told awful lies to Sally in the past. I applaud the specificity of your post. You clearly understand how important it is that we never forget the awful things we don't know about Glenn.
It's kind of frustrating going back through his blogs, isn't it? He hides all the awful things about himself so skillfully and we are left with the impression that we don't have reason to consider him a repugnant lier.
Sally has taken a very specific stance against Glenn and we need to respect her when calls him a lier. Onward!!!

@ Sally G
[to Glenn]: First of all, I don't doubt the premise of your argument that there are more stories about Obama bowling than about Yoo. That's not the issue.
You're right. The issue seems to be that you need a life, a sense of perspective, and a sense of humour.
There's 4102 dead U.S. soldiers in Iraq so far. Now thats' funny.
Cheers,
