The John McCain "centrism" fallacy
Just as they did with Rudy Giuliani, journalists are depicting McCain as a "centrist" despite his having foreign policy views as militaristic and extremist as one can get in the mainstream.

    Mr. Fischer in the end didn't know at all anymore at what side of the political scale he was standing (I think he thinks he is off the scale altogether - you know the "older statesmantype" - above every "left and right")
