I'm listening to the Justin Raimondo piece right now..
At 7:33 Raimondo says that the media is "liberal" and they hate the Catholic church and hate the Pope and that is why McCain's relationship with Hagee goes unremarked upon.
I'm not sure I'm going to bother with the rest of the interview.

Was it Pedinska who invoked the image of women fighting at a lingerie sale?
I did, but it was pretty much tongue in cheek in the middle of a silly discussion that had nothing to do with freedom of speech.
Oh, and I've never actually seen it happen. A bit of literary license in pursuit of shallow humor.
Not sure how tussling over a brassiere is the same as "using force to enforce rights." But I'm still drinking my first cup of coffee, so maybe I'll come around. ;->

Are the morels out there yet? We're still at least a couple of weeks away here. I was a newbie last year. This year I'm determined to bag a trophy 'shroom. ;->

The next step
And by Mukasey's logic, they couldn't tap into that terrorist safe house, and went 'oh well' and did NOT put NORAD on alert, did NOT raise the alert levels, did NOTHING.
And that's the fault of the law.
Right.
The fact remains that the intelligence agencies, even without that crucial phone call, that Mukasey is sure contained all the details of the 911 attacks by his super-psychic Republican powers, had enough intel to issue the August PDB, the Bush administration DID NOTHING.
They still invoke 911, and can get away with their whitewashed version because the media allows no one to call them on it.
If they got that miraculous phone cal, it would have gone into the PDB, and Richard Clarke's hair would have been on fire--
--and would George W Bush have done anything but accept the PDB and say "All right, you've covered your ass?"

You will hear that from the right. I still read and listen to a broad range of material. It is good practice at filtering out the wheat from the chaff. Some of the wheat is mixed in with the chaff from both sides.
A Local cable channel carried the whole, long Commonwealth Club conference that Mukasey spoke at in SF. I got to watch portions of it. EFF and Google and others did a panel presentation on internet privacy and related topics. That was good but many people are so uninformed about this, you could tell by the audience questions. Good questions, though. People are starting to get this. The most interesting presentation I caught was Dr. Boaz Ganor
I was very impressed with him. You might get the impression, considering he is an Israeli, he is not worth checking out. That would be a mistake.

L.W.M. How many tools and pair of shoes have you worn out?
Tools, like your spouse, are not to be lent out.
Well, unless you don't mind not getting either back.
I'd not lend a wheel barrow out, but LWM, jusy maybe,
If you need a worn (heh) out pair of red Kid's snickers?
`
As Converse Hipster, high-top shoes turns 100, there is a good soled Snicker.
You can get a brand new Kurt Cobain All-Star shoe to shoot basketball hoops.
You realize that those Converse NBA official shoes sell for $200.00 per pair?
The price includes a stamped autograph a a ballplayer.
L.W.M is a old hipster?
Do Ya need a red head?
She's not a 'too'l footwear.
She has rare curly red hair.
O Fire! a torch. a burn. ow.
The Wa/Po had a Friday Shoe 'Style' article.
I'll lend out a pair of red shoes and a red head?
I am not being anti-anything or pro-disrespectful.

Pedinska. The morels.
You are not allowed to talk about where you find a morel. It's too secret.
Here mountain 'thugs' will jump you, whip you, and run off with a fungus.
'Be careful." If you want, I'll e-mail you some for a smoothie morel milkshake.

Atrios linked to Scott Horton in Harper's

-- Pedinska
He has a passage from Lenz in the original German. William Timberman can tell us how faithful the translation is. I'm not too familiar with Lenz but I think William probably is.
I suspect Lenz might have defended the idea of mud wrestling as art. What say you, William?
That would make it a first amendment issue.

At 7:33 Raimondo says that the media is "liberal" and they hate the Catholic church and hate the Pope and that is why McCain's relationship with Hagee goes unremarked upon.
From Justin's perspective the media is too "liberal". He really does believe that Social Security is socialism and FDR was a socialist. We all look out our own personal Overton Window and see the world from that limited and egocentric point of view. In a sense, American Catholics are generally more liberal and progressive than the Pope and Rome, especially the current Pope.

OT for LWM...
Have you ever seen the Billy Wilder movie, "one, two, three?"
It was on my PBS station last night. I missed some of the middle, but saw the beginning and end, and realized that I probably missed a lot of inside jokes that you probably would have been able to explain.

L.W.M. How many slices of Halvah 'sweetmeat' can you eat at one setting?
I bet if W.T. buys, with his last dime, a halvah 'sweet treat' at a mud wrestling match contest, you would want to steal it.
Oh, you, pal? Before launching off into the woods to ambush the morel pickers with licorice stick whips, and to 'hit' "hicks" with left over jelly beans and sling-shots... Oh, lets not get disappointed. Remain a honey.
A Sunday wish.
And a peace of mind to you etc.,
And a piece of cake with sesame.

LWM & GC
If two people spot the same big morel then you're likey to have a mud wrestling contest right there and then.
'Shroom hunters are waaaaay more aggressive than women at a lingerie sale. I've seen my brother take on armed turkey hunters! And they put the Bush administration to shame on secrecy too. ;-}
