One of Instapundit's favorite blogs speaks on race

"I am sick to death of black people as a group ... We're teetering at the edge of believing that you're a secret society, a massive collection of sleeper cells just waiting for your chance to do serious harm to the rest of us."

The letters thread is now closed.

@ Proxy, Baby

Proxy, my friend, the last time the black Church in America roused itself we didn't get a violent racial revolution. We got the Freedom Rides and Marches, a new golden age of Gospel Music, and the Civil Rights laws, finally.

We ended up with the Civil Rights laws and got Aretha Franklin, too (and many, many others, into the bargain)

I'm willing to take that chance again. Bring it on!

@Settembrini

You are assuming he's in church every Sunday. Think how ridiculous that assumption is.

If you're going to comment on a thread, try to read the whole thread. What you say was Obama's initial defense: "I'm not there every week, and I didn't hear these particular sermons"

But then the NYTimes uncovered the fact that Obama specifically disinvited Wright from his candidacy announcement precisely because he was aware of Wright's race-baiting and anti-American screeds.

So, Obama lied, then got caught. He then disavowed Wright's preaching, even though he sat under it for 20 years.

That's the lying and hypocrisy.

Thine Alabaster titties gleam...

I get hassled for being too white by white people who like to bake in the sun. I have the skin of a newborn babe and I'm well over 50. My sun tanned and bronzed contemporaries, many of them younger than myself, look like leathery old shoes.

-- Settembrini

And I bet you have most of your own teeth, too! Well, spare a thought for me, friend, gumming my food with a bad complexion!

Oh, the unfairness of life! I mustn't let my deficiencies make me resentful of other's good fortune, tho.

My friend

I'm talking about the views of a demented, bottom-feeding pastor. I don't know where you got "violent racial revolution" from but the prospect does not concern me. My only concern is with the mentality of someone who finds such a man agreeable.

RE: Sick of black people as a group

As an african american, I feel the Obama camp has brought this on themselves. They have been activly pushing the meme that Bill and Hill are racists, and have used that to alleinate them from black voters, who, have fallen for it. If you use these tacticts don't whine when they get used on your cannidate.

@ Retired Military Patriot

Could you please point me to post in which T. Suarez said he/she did not want a black president? I missed it.

Sunday, March 23, 2008 05:07 PM

@Derbig

You say: "Truth be told, and I wouldn't admit it anyplace else, I am sort of a weapons aficionado if that's the word I want.

Kate, do you know where I can get one of those? I simply must have one. Also, what calibers does "figurative" come in?"

In this case, primarily full bore - with the emphasis on 'bore'.

@Kate

pulpits equipped with figurative machine guns

I bet it's related to Clayton Cramer's The Racist Roots of Gun Control:

I know the Ole Perfesser is familiar with his work.

From the second amendment to the first. But now the right seems to be arguing that black's have a right to bear arms but not to speak in a manner that white people take offense at.

Warnings of a Disagreeable Proximity

My only concern is with the mentality of someone who finds such a man agreeable.

Proximity Warning

And that, too, is very commendable. And you coming over here to warn us about him denotes an almost unheard of political altruism.

Oh wait Proximity, my wife says it's not unheard of! What's that honey? Oh, she says they're called "concern trolls"!

See that Proxy, you learn something every day. "Concern troll" That's droll! Droll-Troll... get it, Proxy?

T. Suarez

I see that you are still here and responding to other comments, so I am still waiting for you to answer my question on page 27.

Sunday, March 23, 2008 05:09 PM

for Kitt, Retired Military Patriot, et al.

Again, Obama lied and got caught at it. He first said he had not idea Wright preached those types of sermons. It's only when the NYTimes uncovered the fact that Obama was well aware of them and tried to keep his mad preached locked in the attic, away from the press, that he had to come up with a new story.

I repeat: It's the lying and hypocrisy, telling an outright falsehood and then wanting to have it both ways.

Please learn to read (and think) more carefully.

You need to bone up on your critical thinking skills

-- T. Suarez

If he was made aware of this by people in his campaign, as he probably was, where is the lie? You can't be this uncritical and biased, can you? God! I hope you never make it onto a jury.

Sunday, March 23, 2008 05:12 PM

In this case, primarily full bore - with the emphasis on 'bore'.

Kate Tex

You said it Kate- I didn't. But I will agree, that's your case.

@DCClaw1

Is John McCain equally guilty of "lying and hypocrisy" because he actively sought and obtained John Hagee's endorsement, and later - only when pressed with reports of Hagee's virulent anti-Catholicism, blaming hurricane Katrina on homosexuals, and other insanity - said that he doesn't support Hagee's views on Catholicism?

Ummm, I think that would be a yes. But seeing as this board is about Obama, your point is ...?

Oh, yeah, the usual Glenn Greenwald tactics of, "They do it too! Wah! Wah!"

Sunday, March 23, 2008 05:13 PM

@ Derbig Mooser

I don’t want to continue to be lured by baited questions and hidden agendas. I prefer a more direct conversation. I also don’t want to derail this thread from the prime topic- racism, bigotry and prejudice. Suffice to say, generalizations about a large group of people are risky and the greatest damage the Busheviks have done to our military is politicizing it.
