Everything is tentative, temporary, and evolving toward a 'progressive' better and more just future and hope... I hope. No single person can be an authority about Everything. People are amateurs about some matters? Audacity. What I respected was the effort and 'spirit' theme...Unity in Mr Obama's speech.
Unity. Connection. OR. Division Opposition.
I liked the emphasis on Public Unity. That's a Noble Effort.
Yesterday was a V.A ~ Wages of War ~ Projected cost for medical care for U.S. vets returning from Afghanistan and Iraq is $500 billion. And the vets are hurting.

A human body can be hacked to pieces if it's ill. A Body Politic is supposed to be inclusive and a Institution within the government bureaucracy, needs Every bodies brain and brawn, right brain and left brain hemisphere, insight, and talent? Yup. A body has a hand, head, feet, heart, lungs, genitals, and a backbone? (.) A scrotum can't compare to a female's ear? huh? (p.s. In sexual matters, politics, theology, creeds, doctrine, dogma... amateurs... ordinary, and needing more info., literally... I'm hoping for overhaul and massive improvement. There is a "scintilla" of integrity, virtue, or honor in the neoconservative movement?) NO. A GOP has only *dollop* golfball in the weeds, in my opinion.
I'm trying to be serious. Division has become 'our' characteristic mode of thinking. The axe is swung perpetually? Character Assassinate is real serious? To Divided from each other, Nature, and in be in constant strife... (Rove) is acting in a certain baser human nature is failure/collapse (divided we fall)? Look at Juan Cole's article and the image of Bush's sneer!

If press agents (MSM) serve CEO global economic merchants, and 'religiously' advance a special "elite" privileged group.... Well, a civil rights will be a issue 'spurred' into font stage/activism. Inevitable.
The Obama debate is interesting. If the speech is critiqued as scholarly.... it's not necessarily condescension toward a less school/academic membership of the society. Society is complex. And People on the streets are not s stupid as ya's like to think!
I thought is was untraditional (?) and good to bring black/women, rich/poor, and or to discuss the religious/secular debate, repressed, various issues into a public arena speech. Issues will surface anyway. Percolate? Burst? I thought the speech was mature. The citizens should be repelled by the hypocritical. Institutional Christianity etc., is hostile. Politics? Yup!
All spiritual faiths are to examine the distortions. Sects within Christianity etc., was/is racist and oppressive to blacks etc., The African American people were caged and bought as slaves within walking distance of Capital Hill not too long ago... None can deny there was an American white supremacist religion. A book, 'A Soul of Black Folk' (1903) was a Ugly source of ideas that "Masters" of plantations referred to: Sad. The author wrote: "Blacks were animals and without souls." Or was it the so-called "masters" were dark and a villain? Yup.
That's pretty disgusting, IMHO. White was linked to godliness and black to evil. Barack Obama senses the power of religion and wishes to reform it (M.L.K & W.E.B. Du Bois before MLK. Du Bois was a secularist and worked with 'people of faith)? The message of a human Jesus is spirited and reformative. A black Jesus is linked to a suffering Christ who lives in 'our' society.
I sensed the distance from Jeremiah Wright too, But. * The Washington Post had a good article by Elie Saslow. Obama's Ex-Pastor is Passionate and Misunderstood, Congregation say.*

Many of the angry sermon comments were in a cultural context: Liberation theologies of those scholarly works of the times: * African heritage, disenfranchisement, discriminations, etc, There was a popular theologian Mr Cone of the era? I do remember the era struggle. And I remember my personal spiritual/secular search... To sit or attend does Not mean ya's endorse a preacher/speech giver....
There was a white Carl McIntyre in the 70's who was off the coast of New Jersey bombing Vietnamese for Jesus? O so Creepy. I wonder about various Faiths and the secular humanities.... A label? Human. We are to be humans.

I did not want a blood & crypts debacle post-war. I yearned for peace. A liberationist HE/SHE? If there was a heaven or hell..... On heaven or Earth.... I wanted a bottle of rye spirt 5th! Wine. Holy communion. A kiss.
I wanted honesty. Nobel Peace.
Swizzle? Yup. Frothy. Rum. Gin.
Cat-P? Put that in a pipe and sneeze?
Kitt plays the Base Fiddle and little banjo! Yahoo.
Whoopee cushions for everybody, and go to who's Inaugural ball? We will see. Whoop it up.
Glenn:
Referring to Obama's "candid and sophisticated" discussion of the most compelling issue of racism, you niftily highlight what could be the most winning aspects of Obama's eloquent and inspiring address yesterday.
What a contrast he presents to his opponent. Hillary's pandering on so many issues, from her vote authorizing the war in Iraq to her NAFTA rhetoric in the run-up to the Ohio primary (she was for it before she was against it), Sen. Clinton's brief legislative career has been marked by cold, calculated opportunism.
I hope and believe DCLaw is correct that this country will do the right thing and elevate Obama to the top leadership position he so readily demonstrates he deserves and can handle.
The only thing standing in his way is the failed candidacy of Hillary Clinton and her apparent determination to divide the Democratic party.
It's time for the super delegates to find a phone booth, change into their hero costumes, and keep the Lex Luthor campaign from destroying the country.
Yes... did a proxy drop on the peasant village from a F-14 as the farmers walked home in bare feet for a bowl of rice and tea.
and ' A ' where were you then?
Did you help gather rice sheaves?
Did you ever shed any tears for those dead?
Stepping into the fields... was it sad to see the slain?
Did you ever go to the creek after all these years and weep?
