  • I think you misspelled

    Bukakke..

  • "not a motorcyclist"

This is why I'm a Bokononist and not a motorcyclist.

"not a motorcyclist" There, that proves it- he wants a Harley.

And Asperger's Syndrome-by-Proxy Syndrome, by proxy, claims another victim. It's so sad. Such a waste of human potential.

Speaking of La Strada, I once rode my BSA up the stairs to my girlfriend's apartment in SF when I visited.

Unfortunately, when she opened the door, she informed me she had, in my absence, joined the cult of Sappho in a big way. Then her girlfriend threw me back down the stairs, after stealing my leathers. I told that woman they would be too small for her, but she didn't listen. Ahhh, those were the days. The memories come flooding in, and regurgitation usually follows.

  • Road Kings

are really sort of nice. My favorite Harley, truthfully.

Did you know the top-trunk will fit 6 large-size Pizzas, in their boxes? If only you could get them home before they're cold.

  • @Derbig Mooser

LOL, that stairway scene would be great in a movie.

  • -- Aycharaych

So, the rulers have everyone locked on a modern political reservation where you will not have a choice; even the small yet pleasant difference that Obama brings to national politics has half of the Dems up in arms and all of the R's.

I remain far from convinced that Obama represents any difference at all..

    -- Aycharaych

I hope that he does. I can not be convinced until I see action by him after he is in office and then it is too late to change my vote. LBJ, Wilson, and Bush all ran as the 'peace candidate' and turned out to be monsters. Time will tell.

  • LWM.

I'm afraid of bikes and fall off to skin my shins. Before war I wrecked a tri-bike that did wheel dogs and ran off the road. I hit a chestnut tree. The monster suicide tri-bike wasn't even mine.

A BMW scared me so bad I had a BM? "W" may have one in the next few days?

    Serious.

Thanks for the serious info. about days of organized, planned, and peaceful outspokenness

    ~.

In the hospitals in the 70's, the sick-bays in the V.A. were filled-up with scarred war youth, and motorcyclist accidents. Pain.

Pedinska? I have a three wheel tricycle.

Don't trust me if your ever on the back.

Walk to the shoe store at Capital hill in stilts.

  • Way OT it would seem, but humbly a was struck by this WT 8:13

The eternal war of first principles

Democracies fail, not because people are stupid or weak, but because they aren't involved in the interactions which matter, allowing the machinery of government to be captured by those who are. Especially in a technological era such as ours, once that is done, the coercive, both the intellectually coercive and physically coercive, becomes the norm.
Blaming others, which constitutes much of what has been posted in the UT comments sections in recent days, is the best way I know of to allow yourself to be run over by them. A person who has the answer for everything is useless in a social setting, and everyone instinctively knows it.

What popped up in me silly head was a meditation about all living things ultimately dying(?), and that a democracy is a living thing(?). Maybe a democracy fails because, like even the hardiest, most beautiful red rose bush, it's time has come.
It is not meant to imply that nothing can - or should - be done. Ode, to the contrary, A fervently believe that we must resist the decay and the decline. A couldn't do anything else; like RMP & aycharaych & each & every other set of initials & funny-names here in the garden, that is what we do according to each our own temperament. No choice.

Although, odd little pathologies present, there is still a good bit of fight left in the patient?

  • @ LWM

LWM, the War on Iraq will end the day Obama is elected, and the last troops will be leaving by his inauguration. Obama won't have to say anything, in fact, I don't think they will stay if he begs them!

Ask yourself one thing: Would you waterboard for Obama? That is, would you perform the myraid of war and other crimes which go to make up our foreign policy, depending on Obama to protect you from the criminal responsibility for your actions? I doubt it.

Without Bush in charge, or someone else, (possibly Hillary) whom the troops (define that how you want) can count on to protect them from accountability, the entire effort falls apart. Without the criminality, there's no reason to be there.

Obama couldn't keep the war going if he wanted to.

  • Very impractical

There, that proves it- he wants a Harley.

Never found any use for them. I have no patience for the local posers and wannabes with their cafe racers lined up outside the local watering holes every weekend. The biggest drawback to a "scooter," as I like to call them, is no trunk to put the body in.

  • We used to have a name for wannabees..

    Sidewalk commando.

Don't blame the biker for stealing your girlfriend..

It's part of the job description.

  • @ RMP

Well, if you find my sudden romantic abandonment, combined with personal injury, the destruction of a classic British motorcycle, and the pneumonia I contracted from standing on a SanFrancisco street in my underwear humorous, well, all I can say is... well, I guess I can't say anything, can I? Ha! And I spelled p-n-e-u-m-o-n-i-a right the first time!

  • lwm still can not understand initiation of force ...

    He hit me first!

As far as I can tell there is no difference between "initiating" force and "using" force, except to cry to mom, "He hit me first!" Force is force. -- L.W.M.

LWM can not be that stupid, so one wonders what his point is.

He claims that if John Q. Public started beating Henry Smith with a bat in the local Public that the police would not give that act of initiating force weight when they were called after Henry Smith shot and killed John and thereby saved his own life.

This goes to the heart of all systems of justice since the dawn of time. To be the one to initiate force is to be the one in the wrong; to defend one's self when attacked is justified.

Try to smirk your way out of the argument, but you are dead wrong.
